I watched Joel Osteen yesterday preaching "you are a child of the most high God." The problem with sermons is that thinking people can't ask questions to the preacher. I would like to know if retarded people, homeless people, and people in third-world countries are also "children of the most high God" as well...and if God will take them places they never dreamed of?

Well if they were children of the most high God, why would God make them retarded or homeless in the first place?

1. we see only a small picture of what God can see..
2. people in 3rd world counties may not have it good here on earth however, they have eternity to look forward too and that is the kingdom Joel should be talking about.
3. All Christians are considered "kings-kids" however God is no respecter of persons.. we are apart of his family threw adoption of the cross only..
4. the temporary conditions we face today do not make us exempt from the grace of God or being children of the most high. If anything Jesus says "the first shall be the last and the last shall be the first" I think that those who are persecuted the most and have live in the worst conditions are thought of very highly in the eyes of God.
5. simply put--yes they are considered "children of the most high God" and yes they will go places where even most of us have never dreamed.. Not in temporal worldly eyes but in the eternal eyes of God.

thanks

I can tell you something from personal experience- My church ministers to the homeless- and I know a couple of them personally, that are just starting to get on their feet- with housing and jobs, and they love their heavenly Father, and worship Him, more than people live in mansions, and have more money then they know what to do with. And I used to attend a church that had a ministry to mentally challenged young people and they were definitely children of God- they loved God and worshiped Him more than some others in the church. So the answer to your question is YES

I would rather doubt that. If they can't get into wherever he is preaching they won't be able to tithe, if you don't tithe you are going to burn in hell. They are all sick liars. The whole religious thing in this country is built on the higher end middle class. They don't travel much save in this country. They only listen to the propaganda doled out by the news stations in this country. They have no real understanding of third world countries and really have little if any concern about them. They are all to busy with their little insignificant lives to care about anything short of themselves. That is who Osteen and others preach to. They live in their prefect little houses, with their perfect little religious children, their perfect little world does not allow for anything save themselves.

Of course! We are all Gods children. He gave us the freedom of choice. Some chose Him to be His Father and others do not. But that doesn't change the fact that He loves us all as His children. He does not love our sin; but He loves us. Joel Olsteen is a wonderful preacher. He preaches and teaches mostly on Gods love for us.

Retarded people are like children ,they cannot render an account to God , the others if and when they accept Jesus as their Savior, they will become children of the Most High God....... "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" Romans14:12

If you have not received Christ you will not receive the benefits. How can a retarded person understand scripture unless he/she is not severly retarded. Homeless Christians never heard of one . Christians feed millions everyday and help people find shelter. Might want to know how they ended up homeless alot of the time its because of bad decsions

their was a man born blind that God healed at one time, and his disciples asked him what caused him to be born blind? was it his or his parents sins, jesus said his blindness has nothing to do with his or his parents sins but so God will be shown through him, theirs your answer, people with physical and mental disability's usually have amazing gifts, Einstein for example he was a shizo, and he had wisdom that was beyond most of his time. mentally challenged have the joy that many wish they had. also people with limitations have a great understanding of things that most their age do not. The homless are homeless because of their own choices.

Everyone is "of God" we came from God, and some will return to God, those that believe we are the physical workings of God will return to him, he wants everyone to be with him, but we all have the freedom to believe or not believe.

I think Joel is more of a "think positive" type than a preacher of the Bible.

First and foremost.
Why don't you take a closer look at his church to see what they are doing to help the poor.
I think you would be impressed.
