Jay j has the answer. You are 23 - move out. While you are under your Mother's roof, you should respect her wishes. Bring your boyfriend home, or conveniently arrange to be at the same place at the same time as your Mum with him. That way, want to or not, she will meet him. Tell her you need your own life and you and your boyfriend need to go & find your own place to live. 7.pm curfew for someone your age is just beyond a joke. Good luck.

You are 23 and an adult... so if you want to stay out later than 7 p.m. and want to get away from your mother's controlling ways, consider moving out.

You might also let her know you're going out and you will "see her later"... i don't understand why you can't come and go as you please, unless you live in afghanistan or a country which hides and controls their female population?

take care.

Get a job, move out, get married, have kids, read books and newspapers, attend church of your choosing, get involved in community, exercise, develop interests and hobbies, plan for retirement, pay taxes. That's the usual recipe for growing up.

I would move out. Girl, you are an adult and should not have a curfew. 7:00? Are you serious? Tell her that you are an adult and that you are going out. She will not die if you move out. She will straighten up if you do.

Move out on your own and pay your own bills with your own money. The best way to be treated like an adult is to conduct yourself as one.

You are an adult. You have to take control of your own life. Your mother will not die, she'll just have to accept it.
