Do they have to attend faith services, schooling, etc? Do they play games or read or talk? Anyone know?

They should be going to school, providing there isn't a natural disaster going on.
They usually play games on their gameboys, read, or watch TV. Homeless shelters are equipped with TVs and some reading material.
They don't have to attend faith services, but some do.
I used to volunteer in one. It's the same for family or women's shelters also. Although in those, the household chores and the cooking are shared among the people in them.

school, its illegal to keep your kids out of school unless you are homeschooling with an approved outline.
