like these: Eze 17:3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
Rev 4:7 And the first beast [was] like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast [was] like a flying eagle

Possibly Revelation 12:14
"When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent's reach. "
The "woman" being Israel, and this being future (unfulfilled) prophecy.
Otherwise "the islands (or coast-lands) of the sea" is a general term used by the O.T. prophets that might include the USA when it has a future signification.

The USA is not mentioned by name, but there is a possible citation in Jeremiah 22:6 which is a verse which might be describing two of the nations leading to Armageddon and the US fits the description of the great nation on the sides of the earth in this verse. Due to the lack of references to the United States and the power of the final world empire which is the revived Roman Empire or European Union, we can conclude that the US will decline in power and the EU will rise to super empire status. No, the eagle is not the USA.

It doesn't use the words US but to me it's talking about the US. I mean it talks about these wild beast that represent the political governments, and they're under Satan's rule because the bible calls him the ruler of this world at...1 John 5:19. Who could get mad at God for comparing the USA to a beast? But stop and think! Do not the nations themselves adopt beasts or wild creatures as their national symbols? For example, there are the British lion, the American eagle, and the Chinese dragon. So why should anyone object if the divine Author of the Holy Bible also uses beasts to symbolize world powers? They even use these beastly names in lots of sports, think of the names for the football teams and even schools use these to verify how bad their team is suppose to be.

I'm fairly sure that it is'nt talking about the U.S.A. in the Bible !! For as`far as we know or had been taught; the land U.S.A. was'nt really talked about as some known place , land or country until as it's been said: The year 1492 is when it was looked for or named I guess.!?! " I wonder what those Indians that was ALREADY here called it" !?![I thought I heard something about he/Colubus named it or thought he was in or first named it.. Or even thought he was in INDIA !?! ;-c also I thought I've heard at one time that even C. Columbus thought he came to/found India or something like that !?! Do to the tribal people he saw !?!... Also keep in mind that plenty of the things that you'll read in the Bible have SYMBOLIC meanings !! So I'm sure the U.S.A. has no or very little mention in the Holy scriptures !! if at all as some established land !?! .

The Qu'ran mentions it, here, "For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."
That verse is number 9.11 of the Koran
Now that could be related to 9/11 (see the verse, 9.11?) I haven't read the whole bible yet - I'm working on it, but I expect it is in there somewhere.

The USA has a huge part to play in Bible prophecy, but not something that can be covered in a Yahoo! Answer. If you are interested here is the link to a series of presentations on Revelation and the rest of the Bible that you can listen to free online. I have found them to be excellent and completely biblical. My suggestion is to start at the top and listen in order as the prophecies and presentations are sequential, building up to the big picture.

The original word you translate as 'beast', actually means 'living creature'. This is like what Ezekiel saw: "Jehovah enthroned on a celestial chariot, which was accompanied by living creatures embodying characteristics similar to those described by John. (Ezekiel 1:5-11, 22-28)... The important thing is the closeness of the cherubs to Jehovah’s throne, comparable to that of the cherubs that Ezekiel saw at each corner of Jehovah’s organizational chariot. (Ezekiel 1:15-22) All of this harmonizes with the words of Psalm 99:1: 'Jehovah himself has become king. . . . He is sitting upon the cherubs.'"
The four living creatures of Rev. 4 are “in the midst of the throne and around the throne', which could signify that they are positioned around the throne in such a way that one is standing in the middle of each side... “surrounding the throne on each of its sides.” Alternatively, the expression could mean that the four living creatures are in the central position in heaven where the throne is... The important thing is the closeness of the cherubs to Jehovah God’s throne, comparable to that of the cherubs that Ezekiel saw at each corner of Jehovah’s organizational chariot. (Ezekiel 1:15-22) All of this harmonizes with the words of Psalm 99:1:'Jehovah himself has become king. . . . He is sitting upon the cherubs.'
...The distinctive living creatures [in Rev 4] evidently highlight specific godly qualities..."

No, the Roman Empire had an eagle for it's symbol, the European Union is the Roman Empire of our day. When you see the Roman Empire in prophecy, relating to our time, it is the European Union.
God be with you,
William, a bond-servant of Jesus
