Please read first line of first verse of sri.Bhagavad Geetha and think in "Aadhyaathmikam" and not in "Aadhi Bhouthikam." "Dharma Kshetray Kuru Kshetray Sama Vedhaa Yuyutsava"----Kshetram means Somatic and Psychic Body with 108 components (please refer Saankyaa)-It is Kuru Kshetram because constanly "Activity"(Kuru) is going on in Living body.In Good people it is Dharma Kshetram. The Paandavas including sri.Arjuna are 5 cognitive senses."Kshetram and Kshetragjnan" is lord sri Krishna Himself-("Kshetram Kshetrgjna Eva Cha"--sri.Vishnu Sahasranaamam) It is the Kshetragjnan who animates all the activities ofthe kshetram(the body)-without Him it is a dead body-so where does the question of sri.Arjuna asking (Yadhu Kula Sena or sri.Krishna) this or that arises?-.Sri.Krishna Himself raised the "Prasna'(question) and He Himself answered(Uttaram) on behalf of both Duryodhana and sri.Arjuna."Yadha Yadha hi Dharmasya Glaanir Bhavathi Bhaaratha-Abdyuthaanam Adharmasya---Tataatmaanam --Srjaayaamham(Aham Srjaami)".the purpose of His AVATHARAM should be fulfilled. So He Himself raises the question and answers it.sri.krishna tells sri.Arjuna if you are in confusion as to what to do-"Charanam Vraja(= you surrender to Me)" Paramaathma is Niraakaara Brahmam--He is only a Saakshi(witness) so sri.Krishna did not take any weapon and actively took part in the war.

Mahabhrata war was not just about winning and loosing. It was about the truth and the message from the Lord. If Arjuna had opted for the 1000 warriors and not Krishna, he would also been like duryodhana, may be he would have won the war but would not have heard Geetha from the Lord.

Then, lord Krishna would have choose d another way to help Arjuna because it was a decided to conquer Kurukshetra in justice though they made injustice with Karna everything was already decided.
Its same with Hitler. If Hitler was not there some other person would have been there!
And as it is, Mahabharat was written for us people to make proper decision and not to fight. The mission has not accomplished but we are trying here to do so, isn't it?

Sri Krishna had already sufficiently indicated about Him in the course of his reply (in the form of Bhagavtgeeta) to Arjuna's request for indication of his duty and dharma, before the beginning of Kurukshetra war. Sri Krishna felt that the same person assuming the role of a teacher could make the rendering stereo-typed and that is why He directed Yudhishtira to Bhishmaachaarya when he wanted to know dharma in detailed way. Further a grand father teaching his grand son that too at the dead bed would impact the listener powerfully. Sri Krishna knew that Bhishma was the most deserving person and also desired to see how Bhishma carries out this unenviable task. A Bhaagavata telling another bhagavata will surely impact people at large also, rather than Bagawaan telling a Bhaagavata!

The choices made by Duryodhana and Krishna are indicative of the choices made by good and evil. Evil always makes choices based on its perception of victory and to eliminate its opponents, so logically for Duryodhana the army with its killing strength was better than an unarmed Krishna.
The choices of good are based on fact that being with lord is always good though from a logical standpoint they may seem erronous.
If Arjuna had chosen army over Krishna that would have proved his choice was not for Dharma and god, his chances of defeat would have increased.

Ok. I agree Arjuna opted for 10000 warriors instead of Sri Krishna. Even then Pandavas would have won, because Lord Krishna's blessings were there for them. Krishna would not have blessed Kauravas at all due to their mis-deeds. and ultimately Pandavas would have won. Krishna as was done would have given Bhagwat Gita to the world by some means or other.-

For sure, Sri Krishna will win, because Sri Krishna is the substratum of Dharma and Adharma.

JAI SRI KRISHAN ,JAI SRI RAM

Still the war might be won by Pandavas , only the difference is that Lord Had to teach Sri mad Bhagwad Geeta to Arjuna somewhere else and Lord had to guide Arjuna in the evening ie after end of the day . lord Sri Krishna never fought in the war but He guided Arjuna throughout , hence planning is bvery important for war

HARE KRISHAN ,HARE KRISHAN ,KRISHAN KRISHAN ,HARE HARE,HARE RAM ,HARE RAM ,RAM RAM ,HARE HARE

Arjuna asked for Krishna, not His Army. In fact he did not even ask. Duryodhana had already asked for the army, thinking might is right.

If Duryodhana had asked for Krishna, he might have got His physical body but not His blessings. Pandvas would still win.

But it as hypothetical as : Had Jesus not been crucified.
