There are Christians in Egypt. There have been since the early days of Christianity. The Coptic Church is one of the oldest churches in Christendom. They are struggling now, facing abhorrent persecution from the Muslims.

I was wondering where your question was coming from. It was strange to me to see it because I know something that will happen to Egypt during the Great Tribulation. Not too many Christians are aware of it.

There are Egyptian Christians in the world, but nothing like it will be later on. I take my text from Isaiah 19:

19 In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border. 20 It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them. 21 So the LORD will make himself known to the Egyptians, and in that day they will acknowledge the LORD.

You see, the Antichrist will find Egypt a pain in the butt. He will oppress them. The monument in the text is accurate in translation. The place where the monument is the Great Pyramid of Giza.

And look at what they have found there:

In case that link does not work, it's:

And it is under 'The Findings' . What they have found are closure stones with what appears to be handles on them. Once they drilled through and dropped and camera in, they saw yet another 'door' on the other side. I think that the 'Altar' in the verse is referring to the Great Pyramid, and whatever is behind those stones has the reason why the Egyptians will become Christian. They will apparently even bring offerings to that place in honor for the Lord.

Many Egyptians are Coptic Christians. There are other types of Christians in Egypt, as well.

Probably. I met a guy where I work that identified himself as an Egyptian Christian. Never knew what the big deal was but said..."Ok". Thought it a bit odd for him to say. I still chuckle when I think about it. Saw your question and it reminded me of that.

Mark was in Egypt and started the Coptic church.
They have some of the earliest scripture. They are a minority now because the Arabs took over.
