"...and when I came up out of the water I found myself face to face with what looked like a sun..it was so close to me that it almost filled my peripheral vision...I noticed that blackness seemed to surround it. For some reason it didn't light up the room, but it almost blinded me. It seemed alive and full of love for me. Time stopped and it was just me and this light. The water seemed electrified. My body energy accelerated. Information began downloading directly into my mind. I found myself reviewing my entire life and fully understanding the meaning of everything that ever happened to me, but I understood more than that...I could see all of time as a single occurring event...and my place within the all of it...the experience lasted all night.....evening and morning were the 5th day..." Supposedly this happened during a baptism and I'm highly curious about it. Got input?

A true Mystical experience! I understand the experience, especially the information download & seeing their entire life as a single event & their place in the "scheme of things". It is not suprising this occurred at the time of baptism, a true being born again of Spirit & vision to see clearly. The symbols may be particular to the individual, but all the feelings described are classic of mystic experiences, overwhelming love, no time, seeing their place clearly. The evening & morning of the 5th day is when God created all the beasts of the earth, but not man yet. I have some ideas on this working & can feel the answer but find myself a little reluctant to voice them here because of the implications. Of course, I am looking at words describing anothers mystical experience, but those who have had similar experience can call back the memory of their own & see more clearly. Thank you for sharing this experience.
Blessings

hmmmm.... a bit of both maybe. I remember childhood psychic experiences. Auras, past lives, 'invisible' companions. Standing next to someone and suddenly"knowing' their life story. So, yes, I was born with vast capabilities, that I remember having and sharing. My mom was appalled, what to do with me? Her best advice was to shut it all down as much as possible. Which I did, for the most part. So then, I was sort of "unmade". Then later, I decided I wanted to change that, and reactivated. Now, I am still refining/learning that the deeper I throw down my roots into the Earth, the higher my branches reach. Meaning, the more grounded I cause myself to be, the more mystical, psychic and awakened I experience myself. Also, the more I am willing to claim these states of consciousness as mine, the more they are. So, the short of it is, yes and yes.

Sounds like a ''out of body experience.''
When I was baptized a Christian off the
coastline of Southern California in 1999,
I felt at Peace within myself, a very warm
and comforting thought about being restored and all my iniquities washed away through the death and rising from the dead
of Jesus Christ our Savior.
I've never heard of a story like the one I just
read. My personal input, God only knows.

The Light, the Word, seemed to have contacted someone that was ready to receive. Sounded like an amazing experience.

Sounds like a meeting with the 3rd eye..........or the Crown chakra opening. Or a visitation. The inferences or meanings are only really for the one who had the experience. Knowing comes in one's own way. Peace, my friend.

Greetings Aum.

Sometimes rituals and other symbolic actions can assist people in gaining insight into their own consciousness and their place in the universe. When I read this quote, it reminds me of that type of personal epiphany...

One of the symbols of baptism is new life. One of the powers of ritual/liturgy is letting go. Perhaps this person allowed themselves to let go of their ego, assuming the 'safety' of baptism, and in allowing themselves to let go of themself, they found themself. Sounds like they popped out of the water and found themselves looking into a soul mirror.

Permission granted, self. *sip*
