When making a Clementine cake, do you chop up the peel and the fruit inside after boiling them for 2 hours.?

The link below is for Nigella Lawson's recipe for Clementine cake. After the 2 hours, drain them and then cut in half to remove the seeds and then finely chop them.

I'm surprised your recipe didn't include that step or did you just try to write it down quickly while watching it on TV!?!
