If man is created in God's image, then does God urinate or defecate? Does God lust for things, and does God have greed? If God truly created us in his image, then why is there a need for religion? Wouldn't humans just act in a holy manner without being told to do so? Is God a hemaphrodite, since there are two different genders present in the human race? There are many attributes that are related to humans that are not related to God, but wouldn't we have them if we were created in God's image?

Sherry, if God does not do anything against his nature, then why create the human race at all? Since we are all since birth sinful creatures, then why make us at all?

Many of you talk about free will. Since it says in the bible that God made us in his own image, does that not mean that he also has free will. You say he is good, loving, compassionate, but if we are like him, then he also has the free will to be ruthless and unforgiving. You basically are making the statement that it says we are created in his image, but you don't know why, or how the device of his creation works.

You say mankind fell into sin in the Garden of Eden, but why did we fall into sin in the first place? Did God intend for us to sin? If so, then why didn't he just cast us into this mortal coil in the first place, instead of teasing humanity with immortality? If God is always truly right, then he would have seen this coming a long, long time ago.

Luv2shop- By your very name I perceive you to imitate this world, not imitate God. You say you merely state the word, and the word is truth. Have you ever seriously asked yourself about the reality of the truth behind the scripture? You must believe we came from Adam and Eve, and that the world once became flooded, and that a burning bush once talked. If you believe all of these things, then why are they not happening in modern times? I find it kind of degrading to get a moral lesson from someone who obviously is a slave to material possessions (luvs2shop), so please actually answer the question before posting your claims of what you believe is true.

Leah, you accuse me of reading a lot, and understanding a little. You accuse me of not thinking outside the box. Isn't the very nature of this question thinking outside of the religious box? You say God is three and so are we, but you expound nothing on that statement other than a catchy little rhyme. You are falling under the very fallacy that you claim me to be under (reading a lot, knowing a little). We don't act in a holy manner because we are depraved, yet we are in God's image, so is he also depraved (using your think inside the box logic)? Also, I would actually like to state that the first words that an infant learn are not usually "no", so therefore your idea that humans are ALWAYS dealing in the negative is false. Actually, training of a child to talk is all based around positive reinforcement, so therefore your argument is null. If we are the crown of his creation, the how do you explain Hitler, Saddam, or Pol Pot? Were they also the crown of his creation?

Uncle Remus, if God is love, then why is there cancer? Why are there nuclear weapons capable of destroying hundreds of thousands of people at once. You are guilty of believing without reasoning why things are the way they are. If love and marriage are what propels our race forward, then why are there gay people. Is God a little homosexual as well since we are in his image? Also, you didn't answer my question at all, rather you commented on another person's answer. If I was any less of a man I would report you for not answering the question, but I believe in free speech.

It is interesting to see the believers side step your question. It is a legitimate question, but nobody has the wherewithal to give you an honest answer. This is actually one of the most ludicrous concepts and I would like to see just one believer answer the question. What does your male god need with a 'man part'? If 'he' has one, why? It's only used for two things. Waste elimination and sex. There is no Mrs. God that I am aware of in the myth, so it is a fair question to ask whether god masturbates and urinates.

There is no need for religion , there is a need for relationship...
God created us in his image - you ask amiss....
We are the crown of His creation.....to be direct...The objects of His affection....
One example ....God is 3- and so are we ....Think about it.....
God also has no need for all the things you mention He is a spirit....and ding, ding, ding, we are not....
We don't act in a holy manner as you speak cuz we are all 'depraved'......And since when even as a child do we do what we are told....isn't just about the first word we learn " no-no"....
He made 2 genders , so we would love , care , support and take care of each other......
When people read much and understand little it results in questions like these.......

Leah recognized that God is a spirit and such one does not need to use bodily organs. They only serve the physical body on earth.
Why God created us is that you have to understand that God is love. Love is the creative force of the natural universe. It is how life is sustained, generation to generation, in the human species. Love and marriage between a man and a woman, continues this cycle of life. I use humans because the newest religion humanism deifies man by making man the most godlike of all creations on earth.
Both the man and woman have minds and bodies that are created in God's image. God is not a sexual being. But he made sexual beings to continue life on earth and to share love.

I think you need to read the bible. God does not do anything that is against His nature.
There was not sin in the human race until Adam and Eve actually sinned. He made them perfect and with a will of their own.
He made us to show his mercy and grace to, and to show that He is also Just. He made us to love and worship Him. However, He did not force us to love Him. Forced love is not real love.
Actually, God in His omniscience knew what man would do. He knows the beginning to the ending. Since He knew what man was gonna do, He already had planned on what He would do to make a way for us to be reconciled back to Him. He is present in our past, present and future right now all at once. He is not in our time zone or time dimension. He made time for us. He popped into our time dimension when the word became flesh and dwelt among us. He built the bridge when He died on the cross. He has gone out of His way to show us that He loves us unconditionally, but since He is also a Just God, sin must be punished, and that is the price Christ paid for us, He was punished for our sins and transgressions.
God did not make sickness and death. It came with the sin. When sin happened, the perversion of God's perfect plan included with it death and sickness.

God is all Good, Everything in God is goodness, there is goodness in every humanity, however due to our free will, we ought to sin because of our free will. Each race whether male or female assimilate the working relationship between sexes because one complements the another, another compliment as well.

Changes came about in the Garden of Eden. Many many changes came about (mostly for the worse) after mankind fell into sin. That is the "why" of many things that you bring up. Please read the Bible for information on this subject.

We are created in the image of God, not exactly like God.
People were perfect before they sinned, then we needed a savior in Jesus.
Jesus had a human body just like ours, including the need for elimination of waste.
I really doubt Jesus' resurrected body has that same need, but scripture doesn't really say anything about it.
There ARE elements of God's nature that we just will not know until heaven, He revealed all we needed to know to be saved in the Bible.

we are created in Gods image, but we also live in a sinful world, those who are in their word, and follow God, are not to imitate the world, but imitate God, we must recognize that the devil is a liar, and he has come to steal kill and destroy, and contaminate our "temple" with sin, but God is in the business of changing that if you give your life to him. ...... we are created in his likeness, but we must do the work also and not be friends of the world, because a friend of the world is an enemy of GOd. I just say what I read, and what i read is the word, and the word is the truth, and the truth sets us free......

Man was created perfect in God's image. This is in respect to our basic qualities. God's main attributes are love, justice, wisdom and power. God gave us those things also. We chose to pervert them and ended up with other things like lust and greed (which are perversions of love).
