If you believe the claim that Muslims are silent, what do you think of what this site has to say? We are not silent. It seems that those who have made up their minds to hate all of us have selective hearing. How does this make you feel and what do you think of this?
http://theamericanmuslim.org/tam.php/features/articles/selective_hearing_of_muslim_voices_against_extremism_and_terrorism/0012212
A recent article “The silence of the American Muslim community on terrorism speaks loudly” by JIm Ragano* is typical of the selective hearing of those who have made up their minds about Islam and Muslims.
“The American Muslim,” an important Islamic organ and one that claims the label of “moderate Muslim,” is hypersensitive to the feelings of many Americans that Muslims are silent on terrorism. TAM states that “Muslims are accused of not speaking up or of not speaking up loudly or clearly enough.

This is a baseless claim.” To support their position they provide a section of their Web site that ostensibly provides the reader with hundreds examples of “Muslims against extremism.”
After pointing to a few recent articles under the heading of MAE (Muslims Against Extremism) he comes to the conclusion that As far as the American Muslim population generally is concerned, I continue to find little but silence.
It is interesting that in his research of The American Muslim site he entirely missed all of the fatwas and statements by organizations and individuals in the 466 items that come up in a search of MAE on the site.

Personally I don't think it makes a lot of difference. Why should an average American Muslim have to defend him/herself with regard to acts that he/she didn't commit? The majority of Muslims aren't extremist murderers, any more than the majority of Christians share the beliefs of the KKK.
All Christians shouldn't have to answer for the actions/philosophies of the KKK, just because they share a religion, and all Muslims shouldn't have to answer for the actions/philosophies of extremists, when they only thing they have in common is religion.
Of course, the majority of braindead American Christians may disagree with me...

To be honest with you, I think the Muslims have failed as a community to speak out against terror. Many Muslim individuals have gone to great lengths to condemn it, but as a community, the Muslims have by and large lost their way. Why? If you can't read, which many uneducated Muslims can't, you can't read the Quran. If the scholars are taking over the religion, they become a clergy and act a bit like intercessors- precisely what the Prophet was trying to do away with. Most mosques receive copies of the Quran, but these are from Saudi Arabia and are a) poor translations when compared to say, Abdullah Yusuf Ali or Muhammad Asad and b) full of wahabist ideas. The English says, in brackets, that tanks and planes and missiles are part of the "steeds of war" in verse 8.60. Islam's greatest enemies are the wahabis and its own misguided followers, not the west. The Muslims need to root theses cancers out and restore their religion to its pure, simple state. They need to follow the Quran (and the Quran says to use reason many many times), not the hadith and the rulings of scholars.

Yes most muslims around the world are silent.A proverb says that silent is gold.Muslims are human like you are.We have mind and heart and common sense. We know what is good and what is bad.We muslims hate also terrorism.Terorism is a coward action and have many innocent casualties..God is Qur'an spoke that if muslim knows about cruelty we should select 3 kind of attitudes e.g.(1)stop cruelty with power if you have a power and brave to do that (2)try to stop cruelty by saying on TV,Radio or news paper if you have the skill for that and the weakest attitude (3)by prayer to God Almighty to turn off the cruelty.
In every religion followers there is a hard liner or radical. It is not the monopoly of Islam. and it is only a small part of them.
The radical has no enough patient for stopping the cruelty..Waiting to calm down by itself is taking more time..But making a war and bloodshed are hated by God.
The arrogancy is not allowed by God..Easy to be angry is tempted by satans. But I think along with history now are more muslims killed by non muslims than its opposite
..Muslim attitudes are managed by the holy Qur'an and hadits of Muhammad pbuh as our life guide.

No! arabic is men and ladies language now not God! God is thoroughly diverse from his creations and he created the best purchase although arabic is basic to muslims thinking the reality that the terrific message (the Quran) of God became into as quickly as by arabic and it extremely is going to be the spoken language of persons in heaven inshaallah in simple terms checked some ideas in precise right here and seems that ppl have some misconceptions, God (SWT) the writer and Sustainer of the universe could have an understand-how of any production by any language,HE taught mankind and each production the finished languages he's familiar with of what are our intentions and what's in our hearts he's familiar with people greater than all of us understand ourselves, He pays interest us without even the could communicate, he's in all probability the main physically powerful in all probability the main best above of all...and those are our ideals.

Most Muslims, as are most people, are silent.
Many Muslims worldwide ARE radicals. Not in the sense that they kill, but in the sense they have radical sympathies.
Do I feel all Muslims are this way? No. But many Muslims are silent, for fear silences all faiths. I thank you for being outspoken, but remind you that some are not.
Radical Muslims do exist, but to claim that all Muslims are radicals is as untrue as to claim that no Muslims are.

Muslims are no different from Christians....
We're all human, and we poop and pee the same, and act really important when we're really not.
Both groups should focus more on helping people, and less on "being right"...
How about giving it a rest?

I dont understand, where the god is? no where because he or she (the god) had failed to teach his / her people the wrong and the right.
in every religion (man made) you will find good and bad people. we all eat and discharge the same way. we all have same way of giving birth to a baby. we all have same body structure. in ever religion people die. rape, killing, etc are not specific to religion. then i dont undertand why people follow religion. non of the religion should be followed because religion had failed to teach there people about wrong and right.
