It'll be better than dead ones.

I've been a florist for a long time. Guys often come in and want "casual" flowers for a date that are understated and don't imply: "the next gift is a ring".
Bright colors are fun and cheerful. They say "let's have some fun". Gerbera daisies are perfect for this and they're one of the MOST popular flowers around. Six of assorted colors in clear wrap with a simple tie will do wonders... make sure you ask for them to be in water vials to stay fresh.
A small clutch of totally mixed blooms will work as well. You could include some unusual flowers, but NO ROSES.
Give them to her when you first see her, so it won't seem as though you are hiding them -- saving them for a bigger surprise...
Don't make a really big deal over them. They say enough on their own.
Have fun!

Flowers are nice, but something other than roses. I love any type of lilies, but that's me. Or just a mixed bouquet. Don't get anything too big, and make sure she has a vase to put them in. But don't go overboard. It looks like you are trying to hard. But a simple gesture is appreciated. And give them to her when she first opens the door when you pick her up. Have her leave them at home, so she doesn't have to carry them around all night.

I was going to say pass on the flowers but if you known her for awhile, do so. That'll show your interested and you've had some feelings. Red roses are nice and give them to her when you pick her up at her doorstep.
Good luck.

Ooh how sweet:) ok first find out what her favorite flower is(from a friend maybe) if you don't know or don't want to ask then you can't go wrong with red roses, and you should give them to her at her door if you pick her up if not just as soon as you see her! Good luck and congratulations!!

I think just one rose is really nice. If you buy more then it appears you are trying to buy her. Don't leave that impression. if you continue dating then find out what her favorite flowers are and send them to her in a month or so. Girls love surprises.

Honestly a big bunch of flowers isnt really a great idea for a first date ...maybe on another date....
I have received a single rose on one first date and a fake tulip on another which even tho most people would think he was a cheap skate i thought it was a nice gesture without putting pressure on things .Even tho we arnt together I still have this flower and everytime i see it it reminds me of the lovely night i had and yes his face too

if youre going to get her flowers that arent roses, then they should be unique ones. not carnations. red tipped yellow roses signify friendship turning into love or something like that right? theres a website i saw ones that explains what each type of rose represents....but flowers in anyway are a nice gesture.

Yes, just seeing her give an honest smile and present her flowers with wishes, and don't forget that your words should have a lot of care and respect for her. all the best, friend.
