That's simple. Everybody fears mortality; it's in our nature. Whether I want an afterlife or not is irrelevant, but I don't believe it exists.

Well I love to think about things that haven't happened yet. The afterlife gives me some comfort as to that I might go someplace really nice. Even though you're right. I ask a lot about everything.
I'm a very curious cat. *smiles*

Isn't it a given that whether we need it or not it's there and it's pretty foolish to ignore the fact and concentrate on this life to the exclusion of the other.
This life is awesome. It's a gift from God and full of blessing.

My thoughts are is that for me, it's a thing of 1.) faith and 2.) comfort. Honestly, I hate to think that I will lie in a box for the rest of eternity, don't you? It's nice to think that after this, it's not all over and after this, there's hope of seeing the ones we lost.

For all the complaining about the ills of this world, that at least should be obvious.
Aside from that, its not a matter of needing, I have an eternal soul, I just prefer to know where it will be spending eternity.

The reason so many believe in an afterlife is because it offers comfort to the cold hard reality of death.

Nobody needs that sort of thing except people who think they are indispensable to the workings of the universe

I don't need an afterlife.
This life is enough of a wonder, unless you waste it all on waiting to go to heaven.

I think it's more the idea of being alive without being bound to a frail body threatened by age, injury, and disease.

Actually I like to think that this is only one act of a never ending play that we are all staring in.
