Yes, granted, it is a small world, and I have met people who have the same ancestors, or have run across people I know on a vacation in a far off place from home, but I dont think we know each other, There are possibilities that we have crossed paths somewhere, at an airport, or on a freeway.

On the other hand, sometimes people have yahoo id's and they live in the same city, and still dont know each other, or they find out it is their neighbor, sooooooooooo.........

unless you tell me who you are, where you live, etc,,, i could never know if we have met, and I dont think that is a safe thing for you to tell everyone, as I dont trust any one farther than I can spit, and that is just usually down my chin...((((smiles)))...

Lets just be friends here and now and we can meet in the next life, just come up to me and say, hey Tupperware lady, I am gumby and I will give you a huge hug!!!!

Have a wonderfully Merry Christmas!!!

That would be fun, but I doubt it. We are probably all spread out all over.

Anybody from north San Diego County out there? If yes, email me.

Sometimes we see someone and we wonder if they are LDS. I will start talking to them, adding in things like my son just got home from a mission in Quebec (typical Mormon things). Most of the time we're right. Then there are the tell-tale "g lines" that are a giveaway.

Yup! We're out there! The LDS world can be small but it is a very big world.

Aha! I thought I recognized you from General Conference in 1989. Weren't you the one partially hidden behind the column with your hair showing, and you kept folding paper airplanes, and one of them was lifted by an updraft when someone entered the side doors, and it got stuck in one of the chandeliers, so the broadcast was interrupted while everyone looked up to make sure a pigeon hadn't got loose and flown into the Tabernacle?
Just kidding. We'll probably run into each other and never know, but at the Second Coming, I say we have a big yahoo regulars family reunion, and break out the jumbo-sized bag of gummy bears. And Velveeta cheese. Have a happy day.

I don't know that I have necessarily met any of you [yet - or at least in this life] but I wouldn't be at all surprised if most of us knew people who knew people who knew one another...

but it's sure been fun getting acquainted here... i'm a mom [no really, i don't just play one here] and I work for my hubby doing all his office word [he's an atty] -- and it's nice as I have few specific demands on my time [I can take off and deal with the boys anytime I need to] but I seem to spend way too much time on the computer dealing with the books & taxes... and it's been nice to develop friendships with whom I can share a spiritual thought either here in this forum or messenger...
Merry Christmas everyone --
btw, gumby, you're not old -- my first born is getting ready to graduate and go on a mission...

I know Mtn Dew 88 and Badcock, but I'm not sure of any others. Being raised in Southwest Utah, living in Montana, Utah, Oregon, serving my mission in Connecticut, and driving trucks all over the nation, I might have met some of you at some time.

That's unknown. While northeastern and central Louisiana is chock-full of Latter-day Saints, I know of no one from the stake that frequent Yahoo! Answers.

That's too bad, because much can be gleaned from the questions and answers here.

Perhaps after Elder M. Russell Ballard's recent talk to the BYU--Hawaii graduates, more of our brothers and sisters will hit the Internet forums.

The Mormon Duck and I know each other, we've known each other for 21 years, been best friends the last 8 years.... It is a small world, and the internet is just another way to talk to friends that are far away...

This is something I have often thought about.

The LDS world is indeed a small world. This reminds me of a time on my mission, when my companion and I were eating dinner at a member's home. As was typical, the family asked where each of us were from. It turned out that the mother of the family knew someone from my hometown (an old college roommate of hers)... When I asked who it was, I immediately recognized the name; she and her husband were my parents' best friends!

I don't think so- Most of the people I know live in a different state than I do. Although I grew up in Utah and that is where I went to school, so maybe I know people from school on here.

That would be cool if we really did know other people on here.

I think it is funny how you can just kind of tell someone else is mormon even if they dont really say anything in regards to the church.

This has happened to me several times. I will be waiting in a line or at a restaurant and something about them makes me think I bet they are mormon. Then a little bit later they will say something about church or byu or something and confirm it.

I use to play volleyball at this school and there was this one girl for some reason I just thought to myself, I bet she is mormon, No particular reason. Then I saw her at institute, lol.

lavender
just move down here to southern ca
Tons of mormons and every other religions too. It is nice living in a diverse population where religious differences are just not a big deal.
