Yes. Mary was a normal woman. Even though blessed by God and chosen to carry and deliver Jesus.

(1 TIMOTHY 2:11-15) Let a woman learn in silence with full submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 Also, Adam was not deceived, but the woman was thoroughly deceived and came to be in transgression. 15 However, she will be kept safe through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and sanctification along with soundness of mind.

Safe does not mean pain free.

nicely, permit's see... There could be no infant interior the manger, because of the fact it could have been aborted. the three "sensible adult men" could be terrorists that have been given off scot unfastened with an ACLU protection. Joseph, could of course, be Joseph Stalin. The Angel could be Lenin, blessing all interior the Commey way.

Jesus was born as a human, afterall, so I think Mary conceived Him painfully too!! (And considering that he was just brought out in a manger)

I'm sure it was. Besides not having advanced medicine in that day, the Bible tells us of part of the curse of man bestowed upon Eve that says she would "travail" or be in labor/pain in childbirth.

Never mentioned in the Bible.
Usual Christian teaching is probably that it was painless, but thats just a guess.

Either way, the Gospels don't say.

Mary was a mortal being, so my guess is yes, it probably did hurt, just as much as any natural labor does for any regular delivery. For her sake, being in a barn and all, I hope it wasn't too tough.

Catholic Tradition says, 'no'. The belief is that Our Lord was born like 'light passing through a glass'.

This is not an article of Faith, but is stated in Church writings.

I think you would have to get a women's perspective on this, but I would think all natural childbirth has some element of pain involved

It was painful for Joseph. I mean, after all, he's pretty sure he never so much as touched her!

"I knew it! She's just like the town bike - everyone has had a ride. Everyone except me, that is..."
