They all work the same.
My boyfriend and I had a discussion about door handles too, but that was in connection with the prospect of me turning 30 while unmarried in Germany. *shrug*

Brass handles will last longer possibly but any doorknob would work as long as it was well oiled and greased. Brass handles would just be useless as any other doorknob if it rusted but it still is a very good type of doorknobs

BRASS IS SELF LUBING,BUT WILL TARNISH FROM DISUSE,IT ACTUALLY LASTS LONGER WITH LITTLE CARE AND HOLDS VALUE BETTER AND GIVES A BETTER IMAGE OF THE PIECE OF FURNITURE OR CABINET IT IS USED ON (personal objective)BUT DOES NOT GO WELL WITH SOME ULTRA MODERN FURNISHINGS.
