Yes blame yourself because you're not praying hard enough.J/K, that seems rough but that's what I've been told. Although I don't know if I fully agree with such bold statements, Prayer is indeed powerful but there's certain guidelines one must adhere to in order to get your prayers answered.Firstly, make sure you're saved through faith in Christ and not by works. Secondly, pray for things that are in accordance to his will. Thirdly, listen to the still small voice, and look for appropriate signs and be sensitive or honest enough with yourself to properly apply the signs to your own prayers. When this doesn't work be patient and pray some more. Usually your own prayers will be the answer, so listen to what you're praying about. If anything if you pray with sincerity you will learn a great deal about yourself and will learn to be honest with your own heart. I assure you God hears and cares for those things for which you pray for.

If you pray to God to help you, and God does not seem to answer you, then, yes, the first thing you must do is search your soul to see if you have done wrong or if you are unworthy. God wants you to try your best to love your neighbor as yourself, to be honest and humble, and to do something to help comfort the unfortunate. If you have done been doing any of these things, and you have been praying for money or romance or fame, then you should stop praying for these things and pray for God's help in becoming a better person.

Sometimes, though, God does not respond to the prayers of people who are basically good people. This is mysterious, confusing, and upsetting. You do not necessarily have to blame yourself just because God does not answer you. In the book of Job, Job cries out, "I am righteous; why do my prayers go unanswered?" Job's friends try to tell him that he must not be righteous, but in the end, God appears to Job's friends and tells them to be silent. God basically admits to having punished Job for no reason that humans can understand, and says that Job has done nothing wrong. If this is what is happening to you, then I wish you the best of luck in making sense of your spiritual reality.

Blame? Don't think one should blame anyone or anything.
It depends what you were praying for.
In Universe everything is inter-connected.
There is no extra this or extra that just appearing on the wish of praying people - everything flows from one place to another and back, and slowly grows only if everyone benefits from that growth, God keeps everything in balance.
If I pray for something to have (like money) and it is given to me - that means it will be taken from another.
I can ask for example for something that others can share without losing for themselves.
Say to make it simple: if I ask for a good job and get it - that means that someone who also needs the same job with the same employer at the same time doesn't get it and maybe that other one needs it more.
If I don't get it - I wait longer for my answer from above.
If I ask for something like knowledge or compassion - I can go ahead and get it without taking the same chance from another.
God just can't take sides and make preferences. All must be in it's own time and in balance.
If say, I am praying for my health or the health of my loved one - that is another story. The health for example as many other things one can improve with prayer and miracles can also happen. But in this case it is not always that one gets positive answer. We, as spiritual beings, come to this life with preset conditions for ourselves which are set by no one but ourselves before we come to live. This is done in order for us to learn certain lessons from chosen conditions. If my prayer contradicts with my pre-set plan - this prayer will not be answered as per my wish now.
If for example, I come to this life being born to poor family and stay poor - that might be due to my need to learn about being poor. Or if I am born disabled and the condition does not improve no matter how much I try and all I pray - well, maybe I need to learn something from such condition.

God normally replies in a way that best suits the person asking the question. He can place images, or pictures in your head that will help answer your question if it is a question you have. If you are praying so that God intervene in your life, or are asking or requesting something of God, then he will answer you, but he will answer in a manner that he thinks is best. And remember that God acts according to what he thinks is best for you. It's his will before your's but if you ask you will receive, sometimes in ways you did not expect.

There are several reasons for getting no answer sometimes.

1. If you don't have a relationship with God, He probably won't answer you. And there is only one way to reach God and that's thru Jesus.

2. Sometime's God's answer is wait.

A. Sometimes we need to mature. And trials is unavoidable, and sometimes God helps us thru trials rather than eliminating them.

B. The answer may be in the works. I think it was Daniel in the Old Testament who prayed and fasted for weeks. God sent an angel to him, but demons warred with the angel to keep him away from Daniel for a short time.

Even a fool is thought wise when he holds his tongue. There is none to blame except yourself. Perhaps your prayer was selfish.
Maybe God has something better for you. Did your parents say Yes to you all the time? Then why should God say Yes

When Prophet Elijah told the believers of Baal to pray for their god to show signs he mocked them saying "Shout louder, surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened." (1Kings 18:27 NIV).

So if you think you got no reply? Just follow what Elijah did.

God answers *all* prayers. In His own way, and in His own perfect timing. The real problem lies with us recognizing this. If you feel as though you are getting no reply, it's because you are relating to God on your own human terms, not His. People tend to "anthropromorphize" God - in other words, they think of God as just some bigger, badder form of human being. Not so. As it has been written in Scripture, "God's ways are not our ways".

Also consider this: Sometimes we need to thank God for *not* always giving us what we want...

sometimes it isnt the right time for God to answer those prayers. You shouldnt blame anyone though. when the time has come, then God will reveal his plan for you.
i feel that too sometimes, when i pray to God and i feel like he doesnt listen to me. But my youth leader reassures me that he does listen, but it isnt the right time.
and about one comment i read about why God doesnt heal disabled people. actually he does. There are videos from people all over the world getting healed. In china people are sometimes born with one leg shorter than the other which is obviously hard to get around and do stuff but most of them are poor and cannot pay for medical bills so they must suffer with their disabilities. But there are some people that are amazing at healing, from the power of God. they have such power from God that they actually heal the disabled people and its unbelieveable... but its true. one healer came and spoke to us and showed us her actual videos with her in it... actually healing many disabled people. it was amazing!
