Its about time we were more serious about protecting and policing the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, a treaty that we are a signatory to.
Who cares about honest John and all of his disingenuous lawyer weasel words. Fortunately he has now been condemned to history for the final judgment! Hallelujah.

If the Japanese whaling fleet is in international waters, then it is up to the international community to hold the Japanese government accountable, not the Australian government.
If the Australian labor government goes out on a limb and starts tailing a fishing fleet with gunboats, this may cause a international incident that could affect Australia's global standing for many years to come.
We could also be putting into jeopardy trade with Japan which is worth Billions of dollars per year.
The federal opposition is only pointing out that using the military to track fishing boats in international waters may have disastrous consequences.
BTW, when you say "it is still a lying oppostion", are you admitting that Kevin Rudd is a liar?

Japan is our major trading partner. The labor government should not antagonise them with mussel flexing. The labor government should use diplomacy to convince them to stop whaling. But this is too much to ask from labor, they never do anything right.
