Mice urine has a very strong odor, worse than rat odor or hamster or cat or dog urine. You may have to clean it every day to keep it from stinking up the closet.
So you will have to sneak the bedding in and out of the house too.
I don't think the mice will mind being in the closet; they like the dark. As long as you don't use mothballs or other pesticide in the closet; this might kill the mice too. But they need a running wheel, or they will get uptight. And they need you to take them out to play every day.

That would be animal cruelty. All animals have been living on this Earth for thousands of years with a day and night cycle. And fresh air. Take away both of these and any animal is likely to suffer. And yes, it would probably smell. Mice have very small systems, which means they eat a lot of food because it processes so quickly, which in turn means they poop a LOT.

I have twelve rats living in my bedroom with me and they don't make my room smell. Go to your local pet store and ask if they sell anything like bi-odor, which takes the smell out of their urine and feces. Clean all of their bedding and litter out of their cage and wash it with hot water and anti-bacterial soap once a week to keep the smell down. Be sure and rinse all of the soap off though. Wash out their food and water bowl thoroughly too. Also, never leave fresh fruit in veggies in their cage for a long time. Give them their fruit and stuff in the morning and if they haven't ate it by that afternoon throw it out.
Keep eveything clean and they should smell just fine.
But I wouldn't advise putting a mouse in your closet though. Such a dark cramped room isn't the appropriate place for an animal.

Not only will it stink it's on the verge of animal cruelty. Keeping a small creature confined in a dark closet day in and day out is too cruel. Please don't get a mouse if your parent's don't want you to have one. It is their house after all and by the time you reach college age they will have put almost $150,000 into raising you. Please respect them and the mouse as well. You're being selfish.

Good luck cleaning them every 3 days without your parents noticing.

Also - as was said above - keeping any animal confined to darkness like that is incredibly inhumane.

Why the hell would you ever put an animal(s) in your closet in the first place? They are mammals, they need sunlight.
