Maybe it takes one to know one and maybe not. Everyone who holds an idea about enlightenment, also holds ideas about what enlightenment should look like. (Except maybe the enlightened themselves.)
How do I know? Let me spend sometime with them. Break bread with them. Ask them personal Q's. It'll reveal itself to me in its own way.
Can I see the difference between student and master? Maybe. Who is the best teacher of teachers? The master student.
She will challenge and bring out the best of what the teacher has to offer. The teacher who takes on master students and succeeds in rising to the occasions becomes a true student master, yet what is the difference?

One whom is enlightened does stand out, like a big sore thumb!
As for the difference? There is a euphoric high which comes with it. There is no real difference, one can teach the other, yet both are on the same path- ( the path is a circle )

You can tell an enlightened person by the fact that they do not seek Enlightenment. You can tell a Master by the fact that they'll tell you there are no Masters, and you can tell a student by the fact that they like to fancy themselves to be a Master.

Well, it would first depend on what u mean by 'enlightened'. Apprently, u must think that u r the master? U must think that u r more 'enlightened' to ask the question to begin with? Maybe u need 'enlightening' ur self? Then you'd be able to tell. Sounds arrogant to me. maybe u should talk to them and they could enlighten u some? where should we begin?

I have never met someone that is enlightened that I know of. I would imagine you can tell the difference.

we as individuals never stop learning... therefor there is none who are 'enlightened' and only one master, and that is the one who knows all things and needs no learning but to teach... i.e. God.

a "master" is felt by others. a "master" is one whom is just one who understand s what Love is. and so spreads it, even just by there presence, while a "student' will not understand love, and not spread it, and even not reconize the "master" to see is to love, to not is to not.
