I don't think that my school had a mascot./

Many, many, many years ago when I was in h.s. it was an Indian warrior (for over 75 years). We had the Native Americans come to our school every year to do the ceremony with the feather, it was very pretty.
Unfortunately, they are now something else since that offended some people.
