Ok, so my husband and I have a debate going on here......He thinks that our daughter should address my aunts daughter as aunt and I say cousin. She is my cousin, so wouldn't that make my aunts daughter my daughters second cousin? Please help, we are dying to know the correct way. Thanks

Cousin. Your Aunt is your daughters Great Aunt and your cousin is her second cousin.

Actually since you and the aunt's daughter are 1st cousins, your daughter and her are 1st cousins, once removed. If your aunt's daughter had a child, then her child and yours would be second cousins. Either way cousins is the correct relationship.

Your aunt's daughter is your daughter's second cousin as well. Not aunt.

Depends on the age difference. Technically they are cousins.. But if the aunts daughter is an adult and your daughter is a young child I think the southern tradition of Miss followed by the adult women's first name combines the appropriate level of respect with an easy informal name.

They are first cousins once removed. However I have heard of children refering to their parents cousins as Aunt or Uncle, as a sign of respect.
