I love the format, the great answers from fellow shutterbugs, and the diverse questions asked. Better than any chatroom or blog I've seen.

Yeah it is. There are a lot of immature people who really don't know a lot of things though that just guess or make up an answer. It's not really credible. But there are some people who really know their stuff and love to help. You just have to find out who's really credible and who's not. I like how they have the SOURCE label, too.

Compared to other places, I like it.

I like doing in-camera double and multiple exposures. I like to compose a city skyline (at night) and then zoom from 70mm to 210mm during the exposure. I enjoy macro photography and have the macro lens and macro ring flash for it. I like using my 16mm fisheye lens for strange effects. I love using bounce flash and an off-camera bracket for my flash. I made a "lens hood" from a shiny mylar balloon just to see what the effect would be. I made a "starburst" filter effect with some screen wire. I put a thin coat of vaseline on a Skylight 1A (uncoated) filter and mounted it on a polarizer so I could turn it for different effects. I've found a lot of good ideas at AIRC-Adorama Imaging Resource Center. I subscribe to Shutterbug Magazine.

Once you learn who the regulars are and stop answering people who want to know if they are pretty, it's a very nice place to hang out.

After about 40 years in photography, I have learned a lot from this informal group. Where else could I walk up to a pro and ask how to do something or ask an opinion on my work?

You've been a good addition and you have captured the right spirit.

I don't personally have any use for Y!A so won't be participating in the future.

I have liked many of the people I have met here and am glad the forum exists so those with experience can help and encourage others at different stages in their photographic development.

Merry Xmas to all, or the same spirit as a wish in whatever reference is appropriate.

It's good to be here and I found myself "learning by giving" many times here, as well as learning all new stuff from the people here - either it's the good people or the people who asks for silly stuff.

I'm afraid I got addicted rather quickly. It would be too easy to spend all day on here. I like the balance between serious and fun questions asked by the regulars. Thanks to all.

It is pretty good, but it has limits. We're not supposed to get chatty, for instance. That's where private groups fill the gaps. But, yeah, it's a pretty cool place to hang out.
