There's not enough proof out there for me to believe in god. I was raised as a Pentecostal. I've seen a lot of things that are supposedly the works of god, like speaking in tongues. The holy ghost comes over you and you start talking gibberish (for those of you that don’t know what it is). I think speaking in tongues happens through the power of suggestion. I've never seen him or felt a presence. Sorry if this offends anyone, but to me the bible is just a book. Even if I cared about the bible, I have no way of knowing who really wrote the books or what their intentions were. I don't think I could have blind faith either. If I don’t believe in god because there’s no proof, would he send me to hell if he does exist.

Why do you fight the Holy Spirit so.

Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Repent, hes waiting for you.

Well, I have a short attention span and didn't read your whole question, but consider this?
~Who made everything around you, for example your computer: was made by a maching, made by a man, born to his parents, trace it back thousands of generations, who made the first man? I believe God made everything, but no matter what you believe in someone had to make the first thing on earth. It was God.
~I don't believe in the speaking of tongues as a work of God, I think people are deceiving themselves. The Bible says to do your talk with God in private, not like the hypocrites that pray on the street corner. I think that when you are talking to God, unless you are leading a prayer for a group, it should be in your mind or outloud between you and God in whatever language you normally talk in.
~I am not one to judge heaven/hell, but I know that if you have the opportunity to form a relationship with Christ you should. I urge you to read the Holy Bible and treat it as a work of history at first, like records from the past (It is one of only books that shows things that happened at that time and has been proven true !) You'll find as you read it that many things have to have been done by God, because they are impossible to man.
~I will pray for you that you can find a relationship with Christ. He was born to a virgin through the power of God and died to forgive your sins. He loves you and it hurts Him to see His lost sheep not looking for Him. I hope that by reading this I will help you and others to know Him and everything He's done for you. Merry Christmas, and don't forget that Jesus is the reason for the season.

When you decide to read the Bible, I suggest a New King James version or even a Message version. Perhaps start with Genesis, about creation, or Romans, many good tips for Christian living. May God be with you now and all the days of your life!

Agnostics needs some people like me to believe what they suppose to believe because if not they would not ask the question and would be agnostic of the answer I have given them. :o) Joke only but would be fine if taken seriously, as you see, God is God and to be taken seriously as to be with all of the existence. For example on relationship... with the family relationship, you'll find the Grace of God and also with our relationships with other people... as you may notice the difference in the feeling of relationship, you'll find the presence of God in the being. There is that law that we follow and been good into it, thereby if there is that law, then there is God.

But being agnostic alone will not bring you to hell... I presume it will bring you into someone to pursue and argue what to believe and what not to believe. As for me, I have opened it for you what I believe about God but to tell you frankly, I do respect the leadership in the Church but I do reconsider what they tell me to follow.

The Bible is a guide... a true Guide if you just learn to find the truth you seek... and I advise you to seek the Guidance of Jesus and not be blinded by Christ.

The world may be a hell to some people...Reality is hell to people and it changes people dramatically. How is reality and the world as it is now no different than hell. It does not matter to me if I believe in God or not....what matters is that you live your life to the fullest and be the best you can be and if I go to the hell for that.....then so be it.

.
Why is it so hard to get it? Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” get it, got it, good. Speaking in tongues is ones own preference in accordance with how they have applied the principles of the Bible. Only a small majority actually practice this. I'm sorry that you feel that you've never felt Gods presence but one must be saved first in order to actually feel his presence in the fullest possible way. Than you need to diligently look for the truth through his word. One doesn't make up his own rules and just expect God to honor your rules after what he allowed his Son to go through for you.

well. you have one good thing going for you....you were raised in the knowledge of God...in church....remember the verse, "train up a child in the way he must go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"

i speak that verse to you, because, i like you grew up in a pentecostal church (Assemblies of God), and not only that, i was the pastors daughter.....and i too walked a way from the church/God and the faith....when i was about 18.

i am now 27. i have tasted a life without God, and now with God...the first has no weight compared to the second.

if you would kinda hear me here, did you know God, or just know of God....simple question, but it is the differnce between a true disciple, and an observer.

why dont you just tell God how you are confused, you believe He is, and then let Him work in you. You may not have it all figured out, but trust him....dont get caught up with all the differences of churches...but seek God, not the church itself..

i feel for you. but i do know that you know what the truth is.....you just havent completly given yourself to God....and when you do that, thats when he becomes real in your life.

take care. email me if you want to.

If you realize the Bible is just a book, then it's time to realize that heaven and hell are also man made concepts. No-one goes to hell, or to heaven either.

If you're really agnostic, it's sort of a moot point isn't it?

I look at it this way: If all you say is true, and if God's such an @$$hole that he'll condemn people to eternal damnation for what amounts to guessing his favorite color wrong, would you want to pander to him just to get into his heaven anyway?

I wouldn't.

There is no absolute proof of the afterlife.

In my opinion - the only people who have came remotely close to what happens when we die are Buddhists and Hindus. Why?

Well..lets see. If you look at seasonal changes, its kind of obvious.

Winter - Everything dies
Spring - Everything is reborn
Summer - Everything thrives
Fall - Everything BEGINS to die.

Hint - Reincarnation, maybe?

So when you want logical proof of metaphorical undertones in a religion, the seasonal change theory is probably your best bet. As for Heaven or Hell....who knows.

I don't believe in eternal damnation for anyone...so no, in my Pagan Opinion - agnostics (nor atheists) will go to hell.

And on another note...I could be completely wrong!!

A lot of people believe if they do not believe in God or Heaven they are "exempt" from Hell. It's there way of Convenient thinking. (JAKE-Below)
Agnostics do not have a clue to what they believe! Basically haven't asked nor looked in the proper places.
YES, Agnostics do go to hell, even some people who claim they are Christians go to hell. Going to a Christian Religious Church doesn't make you a Christian, It just makes you a person that goes to Christian church! It's your relationship with Christ.
IF you are honestly looking for answers on here is not the place to ask.
