Oh dear! Looks like you've caught the 'abulapapamanjaro' virus from saudi arabia.

You have probably treated the symptoms of a urinary tract system for so long and that the bacteria has traveled up into your kidneys. I am guessing that you only get blood in your urine in the morning because you have not urinated all night long and it has been building up all night long and is more concentrated in the morning when you first go. Comparable to why they tell women to take pregnancy tests in the morning, because the HCG is more concentrated from not going all night.
The cranberry juice has masked the symptoms making it feel better, but not really making anything go away. I used to do the same thing when I was younger and frequently got UTI's. One night I had the worst backache ever and woke up in the middle of the night and had blood in my urine. I had a terrible kidney infection from not treating my uti's right.
It sounds like you are already on antibiotics, so hopefully that will help. Remember to take them ALL, just because you feel better, does not mean you are.
Hope you get better!

Your seeking answers from us isn't a sound approach; I'm not medically trained--as the majority of participants in this forum.
However, your symptoms seem to bulls-eye target the condition of kidney stones; you're likely on the very onset of the condition. I'm sure your doctor carries the same medical suspicions, evidently not cleared up by antibiotics--which can rule out a viral infection.
Your doctor may (and should) schedule you for a X-ray (the more feasable approach) or a "kidney stone protocol" CAT scan to see if stones are present.
There are 3 types of kidney stones; you're hoping they're calicified, which is the most common stone. The back aches are the beginning--be well prepared to experience PAIN, which some men who have passed these stones liken the sensations to the closest men come to birthing children.
Your doctor can read the X-ray or CAT scan to determine the size of the stone and which treatment option suits you best. If the stone is too large, Lithotripsy may come into play. Lithotripsy is a "non-evasive" surgical procedure, which carries both benefits and drawbacks.
After passing the stone(s), your doctor should draw up and recommend a diet that is aimed at reducing the risk of creating more stones. Yes....sighhh...once you intially pass kidney stones, you DO run the risk of growing--and passing--more of them.

Perhaps another appointment with the doctor is required. If you had a similar problem in the past and cranberry juice helped - the cranberry juice will put acid into the urine to prevent infection.
Find out what type of antibiotics you are on as the doctor has this situation in hand.
Might reconsider providing Q&A all of your symptoms when you are already consulting a doctor.

This sounds like a kidney/bladder infection - hopefully, that's what your are being treated for. Drink plenty of fluids, minimize proteins in your diet over the next few days, and give the antibiotics a chance to work. If you don't see improvement by day 4, go back to the doctor - maybe have them do a culture to see whats causing the problem.

Have the doctor run a urine test, an STD test, and a more thorough blood test. The symptoms you are describing could be a UTI (urinary tract infection - bacterial); or you could be experiencing the first symptoms of an infection. Or you may have kidney stones. Go ASAP...the sooner u know something the better.

You have a kidney infection. Go to the DOC!!!
I let it get out of hand once, and I could barely walk into the hospital because the pain was SOOO BAD. I had to get hooked up to an IV and a catheter. My blood pressure was really out of whack and I had a fever. I had to get an ultrasound on my kidney's, too. It can also be a kidney stone

NOT TO SCARE YOU
but my dad had bloody urine and when he went to the doctor they tested him for numerous types of cancer.
you could also have an infection
OR
kidney stones developing is also a pretty likely possibility.
As for the pain in your back, it could also be a number of things.

Go to the doctor right away..
Just wait a little longer and you will see blood at noon, in the afternoon, etc.
forget about the current pain, is nothing compared to what is waiting for you if do nothing.

She should call her doctor's answering service and have him call her back immediately. It sounds like she has an infection and if it's left untreated all weekend it will get worse by the time his office opens up on Monday morning.
