Your mother's cousin's children and you are second cousins, but you just call them cousins. You and their parents are cousins once removed. It goes by generations, ie (I don't know if the chart will show properly, but I'll try.)

sister..<-sibling->..brother

child..A.<-cousin->.child B

child C<-2nd cousin->child D

child. E<-3rd cousin->.child F

Now, to make it even more confusing, Child A to Child D are 1st cousins once removed. Child A to child F are 1st cousins twice removed.

Child C to child F are 2nd cousins once removed and so on.

The number of cousin is how many generations from the siblings and the removed are how many generations the first is removed from the other. I hope that makes sense. There is a better chart but I can't do it on here.

Your Mom and her cousins are first cousins. Children of first cousins are second cousins.

You are second cousins to the children of your Mom's cousins.

The children of you Mom's cousins are first cousins, once removed to her.

Your Mom's cousins are first cousins, once removed to you.
