"Only 13-15% of the human brain is used in our life time" - That is a myth. Perhaps only that amount is used at any given moment, and that is an assumption, but we use 100% of our brain.

The other 80-90% is memory storage and ancilliary parts (spare parts).

Did you know that you suffer strokes over and over throughout your life? The condition is called "dimentia". Almost all of them are so small that you never notice the damage.

Over the years, you lose tiny parts of your brain. Every time you lose a part in use, your brain usually has the ability to reroute signals a different direction.

Over the long run, you'll lose, lets say 40% usage of your brain before you begin to notice a difference in bodily functions.

"End stage" dimentia is defined as a point where your brain stops rerouting signals and loss of bodily functions is noticeably permenant. Old folks can often be seen having difficulty seeing, hearing, and swallowing, and eventually, when the loss is life threatening, they die.

My grandmother lasted for a week breathing only once per minute.

It isnt a myth. Geniuses brain activity has been studied and they usually have more active brains. Savants have also been studied and when they are doing their incredible tasks their brain activity is also incredibly high.

We dont know what the percentage of brain activity was used a thousand or even really a hundred years ago. Look at the advancement of technology and education. It is very possible we have increased our brain usage.

People that would have lived a few thousand years ago might look at us as Gods if they saw the things we could do. Imagine what kind of people we could become if we did use more of our brain.

Daniel 12: 1-4 1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and "knowledge shall be increased."

If we used 100% at the same time, our eyes would boil from the heat produced. We do use our entire brain, just not all at any given moment.

Depends on education. As long as things are written down and shared we can build on them. We probably haven't changed in the percentage. We no longer know somethings and are better at others, such as many people today know nothing about how to grow food, make shelter, and weave clothing to survive.
