Gore pays for his enormous carbon footprint through Generation Investment Management, a London-based company with offices in Washington, D.C., for which he serves as chairman. The company 's purpose is totake financial advantage of new technologies and solutions related to combating "global warming," reports blogger Bill Hobbs.
Gore stands to make a lot of money from his promotion of the alleged "global warming" threat, which is disputed by many mainstream scientists.
"In other words, he 'buys' his 'carbon offsets' from himself, through a transaction designed to boost his own investments and return a profit to himself," Hobbs writes. "To be blunt, Gore doesn't buy 'carbon offsets' through Generation Investment Management – he buys stocks
Algore is a fraudster. He has a huge financial interest in this company, so he is able to
1. Steal the rights to pollute, while no one else can. He has a license to pollute, in a literal and very real sense.
2. He is profiting from this.
So not only is he commiting fraud and violating regulations, he is gaining financially from it. He should be thrown in jail instantly. If he wants to save the planet, i'm sure his 6' x 9' jail cell has a very small carbon footprint.

Many mainstream scientists dispute global worming, yes, but the majority of scientists who dispute global warming cannot be desrived as mainstream in any sense of the word. The number of mainstream scientists who do not disupute global warming far exceeds the total number of "scientists," mainstream and otherwise, who dispute global warming.
We certainly should throw Al Gore in Prison though. He's been trying to illegally take away second amendment rights for years.
But since we're on the topic of scientific frauds, and conflicts of interest, why don't you mention George W. Bush? He's been disputing global warming for years, and doing quite a lot to ensure that nothing is done about it... all to the benefit of Halliburton Inc, of which he holds quite a large number of shares, as you might recall. I suggest that we arrest Bush first, and then Gore. If they share a 6x9 cell, their cabon footprint would be very small, as one would likely shank the other in their sleep.

I think the real question is what is your personal interest in defaming Al Gore?
is it a personal issue with you or are you working for some business that has an interest in blocking the actions to prevent global warming?

I'm British so have very little interest in US politics, I know who your president is and I think Arnie in California understands the issue too, but that's about it.
I've never seen Inconvenient Truth but have read widely around this issue and take it seriously. Too much of this debate in America has become a party football which detracts from the real issues.
So look further afield than just one or two US politicians.
This website looks at the different sources that go together to make up the 'scientific consensus'.

Regardless of his, as you call it "fraudulent actions", he has earned the Nobel Prize by opening our eyes about Global warming. Driving a "gross polluter" SUV doesn't make him guilty of global warming. This would only be less than a drop in the ocean. The worst culprit of global warming are airliners. More than 42 000 of them heat the atmosphere up with their enormous exhausts, which are in the air 24/7 of every minute.
Al Gore has BRAINS. Unfortunately the majority of Americans are unable to discover that. That's why we have a war at hand now,Sorry !
You seem to be one of the people who elected a president that created high oil prizes and a war you pay for. Are you happy now?

You can tell when you've "hit a nerve" and you have. Congrats to you for this question. Yes Gore is a fraud. No doubt about it. The fact that you have and will be ravaged by the neanderthals who follow blindly behind fools like Gore is also not in doubt. I would expand but its useless to do it on this pathetic excuse for a forum because quite frankly this question will most likely be removed. You see, you have broken an unspoken rule on yahoo, NO TRUTH TELLING.

Nothing in what you said indicates Gore is a fraud. He has reported only what scientists have discovered-and reported it accurately.
Asto his investments--many people invest in the business aspects of causes they believe in. That doesn't make them frauds. It does the OPPOSITE--it proves they are willing to risk their own money on what they believe in--that they are willing to put their money where their mouth is.
Its only people like the oil company propagandists you are unwittingly being conned by that try to twist such things--to smear and ridicule decent people who are trying to do something good. Think abut how little decency and ethics such scum have. Do you really want to sink to their level?

Yeah mate grow a brain. Look at the idiot running your country now. He couldn't argue his way out of a paper bag and he has caused some of the biggest balls ups in history. He is out of touch with the rest of the world although fools like you prove that their are some fools in the USA. This said most of the people i know from the US are embarrassed by Bush and people like you.

"Alleged" global warming threat? "Disputed by many mainstream scientists"? Where did you get that bull(s)hit? Who are these scientists? What is the name of their professional association? This Hobbs character has his head so far up his (a)ss he can see daylight between his teeth! If you can find him, smack him a few times with a baseball bat for being so stupid...

Could you make this a more loaded bias question?
And if you're getting your "facts" from Bill Hobbs, you need to put the crack pipe down and get into rehab.
Most of what you have up here in this "question" is inaccurate or half truths.
