From the knowledge I have gathered and the research I have done, I have found that in Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and of course Voodou..demonic possessions have been recorded, and each religion has a set of teachings to exorcise the intruding force.
My question is, since each religion has a set of RULES to EXORCISE demonic forces, and each works..then where does God come into the picture?
Hindus do not believe in one God, they believe in many, yet Hindu exorcisms have been performed to exorcise demonic forces.
Christians believe in the Holy Trinity, and they use their rules to exorcise demons
Islam conflicts with both Hinduism and Christianity, yet ISLAMIC exorcisms are carried out successfully.
I have come to the conclusion that there is not a single "GOD" but "GOD" as we'd call it, is a positive force. When one uses the name of this positive force, no matter what religion it is, negative energies stand no chance against it.
What do you believe?

BTW I would prefer BELIEVERS of demonic possessions to answer this question..not responses which blame it on "seizures" or "insanity"
I am a firm believer of demonic possessions; my uncle was possessed, and when I seen him, I knew he wasnt him..it was someone else.
When one is possessed, he can speak in a totally different language, voice, and noteable changes in behavior can be observed, so I don't want to hear from anyone trying to "DISPROVE" possessions..save it, it's real to me.

There is a book out called "An Excorsist Tells His Story" by Father Amworth, the Vatican's main excorsist.
In this book he tells of exorsisms, true demonic possessions, mental illnesses and the different possessions that can come from seemingly innocent acts.
It's a great book to read if you want a very close look into an excorsist's life and how they live.
Anyway, from this book, it gives a great detailed report about how exorcisms work and the varying degrees of it. Most 'possessions' aren't true demonic possessions, usually they are people who are suffering from headaches, blindness, unexplained illnesses or lamenesses--these are called demonic pressure or shadows, but not possessions. In these cases, he has given accounts of after the exorcisms nails falling to the ground, people throwing up objects and other such things that relieve them from their problems. Most people don't even remember swallowing such things...
Also, I've done some research on this and from what I can see, there is a way to exorcise a true demon and by the Catholic rite, one can question the demon for their name and purpose. Of course, this goes both ways and the demon can demand the same, though the priest is not under any power to answer as the demon is. There are three things that hurt demons most: Jesus' name, Mary's name and the Rosary.
Also, it seems that only the Catholic rite of exorcism truly exorcises a person from demonic possession while the others can only temporarily free the person. There are alsp people who attempt exorcisms and only make them worse and the possessions stronger within the person.
As you can see, I stand to believe demons are real and that only the Catholic Church has the true power to completely exorcise a person, though others can temporarily alleviate a person of a possession.
Research it a bit and look into Father Amworth's book, it's a truly great insight into the lives of exorcists and their hardships.

I believe that Demonic posessions are definately real.
People used to call the situation like that "Demonic posessions", but it is not nesessary being Demons.
There are different spirits and entities who may enter one's body under certain conditions.
There were recorded facts of transmigration - that is taking over one's body upon agreement with the owner of that body.
Normally if a person is not willing - 'posession' will never happen. But there is something that acts like an opening for not nice entities or spirits to posess living being - this opening called fear. If under sertain conditions person is terrified (like some performances of vudu for example could 'put willies' into one's mind), then I believe that unwelcome entry can happen. (There are also some opinions that if a person is curious and invites entity out of fun - the entry will happen - but I think that this is more for movies and fiction.)
My belief agrees with what you said about God - being ultimate powerful positive force. And people from any religion could use that positive energy through their spiritual leaders (Gods) and in their name, calling for help and attracting much of positive energy to the point, they have chance of pushing unwelcome entity out of 'stolen space'.
You say where does God come into the picture? - I think that God Himself does not perform actual exsorcism but the positive force is God's in the form of many light beings and good energies and also good people with much faith.

Wrong on both the counts.

Weaknesses of humankind is the medium of the Devil and exorcising the Devil from ones being is where God came into picture to straighten faith unto bringing out the devil.
I believe that evil doers are the strength of the Devil from their own weaknesses. God only see what we do as we do them and it is from us where the Devil gain His strength.

People are stupid and humans on a whole are very retarded in that they tend to believe things that are fictional and that make them feel better about themselves and about their situations. Such is the case for pretty much most of the religious people of the world. For example take the humble bee. Do they believe in a god? It is highly unlikely that they do since they do not even have a remotely close brain capacity to even think about things. They are basically robots running about and doing what they are programmed to do. They do not believe in god and seem to prosper while not believing. Thus, "God" is just a made up person in order to people that made him up to have a way of seeing what is right and what is wrong...

Possession comes from a psychological obsession with ones religion. The human brain tricks one into thinking they're possessed thus forcing them to act possessed. Also I believe it comes from a misinterpretation of schizophrenia and epilepsy.
So wait you ask us to tell you what we believe then you want to silence those who disagree with you... Sounds like you're following Christianity all right.

I believe that there is are valid and reasonable explanations which discount the idea that demonic posessions even exist (e.x. mental health issues). That being said, I am inclined to your idea about God being a positive force not devoted to any specific religion.

it is all about authority, who uses the power in God's will.
Jesus said many will come in my name, but only a few will know it..or something like that.
remember the devil has power also. Who walks the truth is the question to ask, and there is only one God....sit, pray, and ask God to show you who he is and the walk you are suppose to do in life.
