By the way, I have not given anyone a thumbs down tonight. I rarely do that. The the first answerer, I could report you for what you said. What you said is illegal. You might want to edit what you said. I promise not to report you, but I can't speak for everyone.

To those who said that God wouldn't do that . . . . did you ever read about a man named Jonah?

n9wff,
I know what that feels like. Isn't it great to know the living God? I wish I had converted when I was 2.

American Boy,
If that is true, then you must be a threat to the enemy. I hope you stayed with it.

Q -- "Did God send you through figurative Hell before your conversion?"
A -- No. Not in the least. Why? Do you think He'd be that hateful? If so, I can do well *without* whatever god it is that YOU believe in. I'll stick with my *loving* God.

I don't know if it was really God who did it, my own sin led into a hell worse than most can imagine. I don't want to go into all the details, but my conversion was a real struggle, and the hardness of my heart against God kept me in some very bad places and situations. Finally reaching a point where I believed I would go to Hell no matter what... hopeless, wanting to commit suicide, but afraid of what awaited me if I did. Praying pslam 51 repeatedly, not believing I could be forgiven. Then one day it was like a window opened and the light came in, I read about the crucifixion and God said to my heart, "You are right, you deserve to be punished, but here is where your punishment happened, I took it on Myself, that is My choice, I am God."
Its so good to know a loving true God.
EDIT
I just read your testimony. We have a lot in common. Blessings on you!

Every child of GOD who is born of/by the SPIRIT experiences this happening without them asking for it, or having a part in achieving it (in the same manner as each person did/does not have anything to do with their natural birth). There is a Spiritual conception, Spiritual gestation, and Spiritual birth. Each child of GOD experiences a tribulation when they have been made aware that a change is upon them (a change from their old sinful wreckless nature to something that is totally different). In Acts 14:22 we find that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God, and in Luke 16:16 we find that since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Both these are speaking of the kingdom of God, which is His kingdom upon this earth that is taking place each day within the heart of each of His who are born of His Spirit. Entering into this kingdom is by much tribulation and they presseth(with much consternation of seeing they are by nature polluted from the top of their head to the bottom of their feet by the inheritance from Adam) into this earthly kingdom or church Christ set up when He was upon this earth. The Church Christ set up IS NOT an earthly organization, e.g., the Roman Catholic and English Episcopalian organizations (there are many, many more "organizations" falsely proclaiming to be the "true church of Christ") but His CHURCH dwells within the breast of each of His who have experienced the Spiritual birth.

Hmm with a few bumps in the road I'd say I've been pretty blessed in my life so far.
I mean in my relationship with my partner we went through more in 5 years that we were together (we were 15 and 19 when we got together) than most couples go through in their entire lifetime, but it brought us closer together, and closer to God I believe.
Also these life experiences made me a better, more open minded and understanding individual I feel, so I think they were a part of God's plan for me.

I will say this. I became a christian a while ago. I believe God has tested my relationship with him and I believe that I have passed the test. My parents divorced after I became a christian. I am now in a Youth group that has people who have gone through the same exact things I have and I have helped people going through the same thing as I had

I was "saved" at 5 years old, but in my 20s I strayed. When that happened I really felt like things were going wrong all the time. I felt like I was alone and thought of suicide. I knew what God wanted me to do, but I was too caught up in the "fun". It was a hard road of figurative hell, but I made it where he wanted me. Thinking back it is hard to believe that I went through what I did. It was easy to come back to Him though. I'll never turn back again!
I will read your testimony.

No, my "figurative hell" came "after" I accepted Christ as my Savior.
... I'm serious!
I left my $75,000 a year job, thinking I would branch out and become a consultant in my design field, having one year salary saved up and $12,000 in CDs...
One month after I left my job my father died from a heart attack, and my mother contract deadly cancer...
I couldn't find any work... I call those years my "HELL YEARS".
I took care of my mother on a monthly income of $300, plus exhausting all my money until she became a skeleton with big brown cow eyes, and then she died a week before her healthcare went bankrupt...
I was left penniless and faced monthly eviction notices for 2 years and had to steal food to stay alive.... for 7 weeks I didn't have toilet paper... my Easter dinner one year consisted of a bowl of cream of wheat without milk and sugar, because that is all I had... and I spent the day before Christmas Eve at Social Services to sign up for food stamps and Welfare.
But in the end the Lord showed me that He brought me low to "rebuild" me, and like Joseph in Genesis who was brought down into the pit and then made the "Increaser" of Egypt as the right-hand man of Pharaoh, the Lord also has given me the "Joseph Anointing"... and now I am a highly successful entrepreneur who has received a mighty vision from God to design and build an incredible World Expo and a New City in the state of California, USA, that will play an instrumental role in the End Times.

I must say that I have been very blessed in my life and that I never did go through a figurative hell. But I'm really glad that
I'm Christian. I wouldn't want to be anything else.

No, dear one. God has always been loving and kind to me. However, I did backslide for a time in my 30's and had a rough go of it. When I finally got my life back in line with the Lord, things went immensely smoother!
God bless and Merry Christmas!

No, not at my initial conversion. But, I believe I have been growing from glory to glory and each of those step is like a small conversion. Each one finds me the prodigal son, and when I come back I go a little deeper. Other times do find me experiencing suffering and drawing me deeper.
