My Mom's in the middle of a 3-month plan to make her toenails pretty again. They're thick and yellow now. But supposedly, if you put Vicks on them and sleep with socks, in three months your nails won't be thick and yellow anymore. We'll just have to see..... :)

Whatever the ingredients of" Vicks Vapo-Rub" are, they have worked their magic on many people. This is a new wrinkle of putting Vicks on your feet then cover with socks. The formula does emit a vapor. Perhaps the sock covering makes the Vicks vaporize quicker so that it does effect the nose if the nose is under the sheets.

Vicks is a marvelous invention. It has a way of working thru your system. The reason for putting it on your feet is so you don't smell the strong vapors. It works the same as it would if you put it on you chest. Do what your neighbor said. You will sleep well and it will relieve your symptoms temporarily. Good luck and God Bless

This is a myth, perpetuated by a chain email which claims the Canada Research Council (which doesn't exist) did scientific research that claims it works 100% of the time.
