You are better off buying a Blu ray disc player, it plays dvd and upscale the signal. This way you are already upgraded to blu ray. Take a look at the Panasonic BD-60, it is around $149. It is the best entry blu ray disc player in the market along with the PS3. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on Blu ray disc players. Hope this will help you out.
