Was the American missile broadcasting any kind of signal that the Japanese could home in on, or was the missile completely silent.

with the exception of the missile's rocket motor exhaust and inferred heat signature, it was silent. No homing signal was used to help track the missile....

The JS Kongo is in Hawaii to conduct a ballistic missile intercept flight test next week in the Pacific Missile Range Facility, making it the first allied Navy ship to conduct such a test

this was copied off yahoo news. It was a test much more info than that is probably classified.

No signals. The technology's been working for us for sometime now. This is the 10th successful intercept for Aegis since 2002. This is the first time that another nation has used it.

If Japan buys it, it'll make them independently able to defend against North Korean balistic missiles.

No signal....American missiles can be shot down quite easily these days

it was a test. i think it was tracked by the aegis or whatever its called. im only 17 so i dont know.
