Yes, very normal. You can put baby diapers on the dog so she doesn't get her juices on your stuff!

It might not be herniated... The term for an animal in heat exposing her genitalia is termed "Winking and dripping".

It will be swolen and she will clentch and unclench causing a strange and possibly nasty looking pulsation.

If there is any type of blood or if it starts to look infected then you should have a vet look at her... But there is a chance that this is just normal behavior.

No that is not normal at all. I have a female dog and she never has looked like that. Now my dog is spayed and that could be a reason, but I seriously think the dog needs to be taken to the vet or better yet an anima hospital asap.

No, it's not normal. It sounds like the dog has a much more serious condition than simply being in heat. There could be a massive infection and it could kill the dog unless she gets taken to a vet as soon as possible.

This is NOT normal, and it is indication that the dog should NEVER be allowed to breed. She needs to be taken to a vet. It's called a prolapsed vagina. I've been through this and any animal that has a prolapsed vagina must NEVER be allowed to get pregnant. If the dog does get pregnant, it would probably kill her.

A little inverted isn't abnormal, but prolapsed (hanging out) isn't normal and damage can happen to the tissue. A trip to the vet is in order.

A female will swell in the vaginal area when she comes into heat. It will be like a light colored strawberry. Sometimes it will be so swollen you can see the pores.

If you know what a female looks like when she comes into heat and this is not at all like that then there is a problem.

dont worry, this is normal. my dog had a litter of puppies and her vagina was hanging out like that, too, while she was in heat.

Are you sure it's not just swollen? It's normal for it to be enlarged, and for there to be blood. But, if it's actually "hanging" I would suspect a vet visit is in order.

yes it is normal. i made the mistake of not getting my rottweiler fixed before her first heat. i had to put dog diapers on her so my carpet didnt turn red. anyway got her fixed after that. so if you are not going to breed her wait til she is out of heat and cinch that up

Most likely just very swollen from being in heat.
