I ask because most Christians believe we should respect other religions - so I'm puzzled.

Because some dead guy, had stories written about him by MEN and the stories tell them to. However, it all boils down to arrogance. I'm better than you are.

Most Missionaries are in parts of the world where Christianity isn't as widespread, and they are trying to spread the good news. Also, in some countries, like China, missionaries are necessary to help set up Churches, raise up leaders, etc where practicing Christianity is against the law.

Because their insecure idiots with no brain cells. If they were really secure about what they profess to believe,they would just be happy to live with the peace and joy that their belief system gives them without having a need to try and ram it down everyone elses throats.Aparently they never learned any lessons from the residental schools nightmare,as they seem to be determined to repeat it in one form or another.

Because the Bible commands Christians to spread the gospel to the four corners of the earth. Missionaries don't necessarily know who is or isn't a Christian on site. Don't take it so personal. Plus, not all church goers are saved. If you haven't lived your life according to the Word.You have lived your life in vain.That's the Word of God.
