I Have Seen That Is Not Really A Difference Between The Two. I Can't Hardly Tell The Difference Between My Television (1080i) and My Cousins (1080p). Keep What You Have.

If your TV is 1080i then the electronics are dealing with the 1080 as two fields of 540 which are interlaced which allows for slower changes in the electronics and therefore cheaper. There is a chance that the interlacing is not perfect and instead of being evenly spaced between each other, one set is slightly higher or lower than it should be. 1080p does all 1080 lines in one pass and therefore should place them perfectly. Costs more. whether you can see the difference is up to you. 1080i, as I understand it, can actually look smoother for sports and fast moving stuff as the steps between image builds are smaller.
