since i live very close to the border, my answer would be a resounding yes. there are a thousand reasons for my opinion, one of which is that my wife is a "LEGAL" immigrant from another country, we have had to pay thousands of dollars and filled out thousands of forms and gone to hearings, and spent alot of time on doing it legally. yet, for the cost of a five hundred dollar fine, they are going to give that to just anybody? i don't think that kids that are born in the U.S. to illegal parents should be considered citizens either. I don't care how many thumbs down I get, you don't live here in northern mexico, er , i mean Arizona with me.

Yes and the sooner the better. Mexicans are not the only ones sneaking illegally into the United States through the borders.

Immigration is a global issue at the moment. Walls don`t work. It is easy to point out the failing of our nieghbour but, if the bank account in our own back yard is doing really well at the expense of our nieghbours overdraft, do we still take the investment and run?

A wall of bullets maybe..this stupid wall is nothing more than a token gesture to the masses....it will take years and more manpower to keep track of.
The only way deter the influx of illegals is to start raiding job sites and deportations...the cost may just as well be cheaper to do...oh and the anchor babies..stop giving welfare to them.
Other than these suggestions the talk of how to control illegals is a waste of everyones time.

Not permantly. As a quick fix until we get our monetary affairs in order (assuming it is a priority) it is acceptable. Walls never work forever. China tried it a long time ago. The communist Germans did it until that wall eventually fell. Walls not only keep people out, but governments get brash and who knows if they'll use it to keep us in!!

Since Mexicans refuse to respect our border, a wall is an unfortunate necessity.

We should ask the leaders of arabic countries how they protect their borders. and hire border patrol specialist from there to teach us how to protect our border. Because sadly here in USA our leaders dont have a clue of securing our borders.
