2 Corinthians 13:5

"Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test?"

Have you taken the 'test'? Do you know if you truly have faith? The Bible teaches us that the heart is deceitful, so you can't trust your heart and say "I know I'm going to heaven because I believe with all my heart that Jesus died for my sins and God raised him from the dead". That's why it's so crucial to take 'the test'. Judgment day isn't exactly the best time to figure out whether or not you truly have faith.

I found this extremely helpful: http://needanewstart.com/Really_Christian.html

Nobody who hasn't already taken 'the test' is "too good" to take it. How do you know that you believe?

Las Julius: Where does Jesus tell us not to worry about others? I have a deep fear for all my fellow "Christians" who lead lives of sin; I love you guys, and I'm just trying to help you out.

Joe_Citizen AM: You're right; there is either faith or no faith. I'm asking "how do you know you have any faith at all?"

jesusfreak: Where does Paul tell us not to worry about others? I need a reference. Also, I have taken the plank out of my eye, so I'm proceeding in trying to help y'all take the speck out of yours.

Caveman: I would have done that, it's just the maximum amount of characters you can have is 1,000 in a question, and what I would say would exceed that number. Also, how it's stated in the link is better then how I could put it. I suppose I could just copy and paste it into the details if you want.....

God knows what is in each person's heart. Dont worry about the other's - worry about yourself. Jesus told us this in the bible.

Maybe it would be more profitable to tell us how to take this test. Instead of just post a link, put it in your own words and give it to us directly. It looks like a good self examination though, but even it could use some elaboration.

What does walking in darkness look like?
What did Jesus command? What did he command us in Mark 16:17-18?
How did Jesus live?
What do we need to do to grow in Christ?
What does love look like?
How can we change if we love things of the world?

Do you know what it means to take the plank out of your eye?

Got ya about the 1000 digits. Cut and past wouldn't be good. We need to be personal. A lot of people tell others what to do, but they don't tell them how to do it.

Jesus Freak may have been looking at Phil 4:6 in the NLT

The "test" that you mention is not a written test. Like it says in your quote, it is a test within ourselves. No "test" can tell you how much you believe. You just try the best you can. Everybody slips and God understands that. God knows what's in your heart and he knows what you know, more really. If you know that you've sinned and that you're sorry, he also knows.

Also, as the other guy said.. Faith is Faith. There is no such thing as "bad faith". As long as you HAVE faith in God, He is happy.

"How do you know that you believe?" Man.. knowing that you believe in Christ isn't the same as trying to figure out if you're gay or striaght...... I'm sorry, but how you said it made it sound like that, lol. No offence to the homosexual or anything.

Like i said, the "test" is a test within yourself, not one that's written on paper.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

I was lucky enough to see with my own eyes.. the power of God on 2-14-03 I saw God work a miracle on me.. that night a taste of Heaven was overwheliming exctasy n joy that i cannot compare to anyting

He had mercy on me while i was sick healed me, miraculousley.....since i was saved and filled with the holy ghost

that is concrete proof that God exists .......but it was between me and God... nobody else witnessed on earth.... so i couldnt imagine meeting God another way than i did so miraculously Glory be To God

Now its builing more faith each day ... and keeping that night fresh inside my mind the mercy he had on me when i was in pain and keeping the faith strong

since then i havent had a miracle.... but i will never EVER forget the night

I know what I am trusting God for. He happened to have said some things that we can trust Him for. And that's what I am doing.

Here are the promises that I have made an issue of Faith:

3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

I do. i'm an ingenious guy or woman, so i think of each and every of the time of the possibility that out of a few freak threat, life began, and all faith is incomprehensible interior the long-term, and once I die, this is it- so long and thank you for all of the fish. yet. The information for God compels me to push aside that concept. there are such multiple issues i won't be able to account for without God. With God, it provides up. without God, it does not. i think that Christians (and individuals of each and every theory) could make advantageous they suspect what they do in spite of the arguments against it. An atheist who purely elementary does not wanna have faith makes me as mad as a Christian who shuts his ears to the international and could purely pay attention to a minimum of one area of the verbal replace.

The apostle Paul wrote not to worry..look it up
And Jesus told us to take the plank out of our own I before we look at the speck in others.
The test is good tho..it teaches us that if we claim to know and follow Christ that we had better act like it...

I am far from being close to perfect. And while I would like to be a part of The Lamb's Book of Life, I am hardly worth having my name written in His book.

None-the-less, I try to be what He wants us to be and yet, I fail miserably, time after time.

Me thinks this is one of the reasons Jesus died for us. None of us can be even close to the perfection He was. We lack the faith and understanding He had (has).

Nonetheless, I pray that our children and grand-children will advance more than we have, and come to know God, in His every sense.

Let them who have eyes and ears understand. Very, very few of us are like Him, who was, and is and is yet to come.

If my faith was tested I would get the lowest point because I vigorously do my best to not be corrupted by it. Faith is a tool of deception. Once you realize that, you will be on the next step.

All I can say is if that is the way you depend to go to heaven, study your Bible some more because that will not take you there.

I have taken the test, AND LIKE ST. LUKE, I DO NOT BELIEVE A BIT OF SHOVEY'S HOCKEY, SINCE IF I AM LUKE, I ADMIT FREELY, TO HUSTLING. In fact, I am more of a Gabriel, so BACK UP.
