i have been a christian for a while, but the music i listen to is not christian, not even close, though i dont agree with the lyrics to the songs or the beliefs of the bands i do like there sound and there music,
it says in the bible that we are to hate what is evil, and to stay in the light, cradle of filth {bad band in particular}, is nothing but evil, an a storm of darkness, is it ok to listen to them, how do i stop, what is a good replacement for my bad taste in music????

alright I had the same problems

I liked to listen to Disturbed and SOD and Judas Priest and yeah.

Then I found this Radio Station Its called Power FM

you can go to their website and listen online for free.

But a good replacement for the heavy metal screaming that your used to would be

Demon Hunter and Project 86.

here is the websites address

http://www.897powerfm.com

good luck with your troubles

God bless and Merry Christmas.

There is no question about it. If you feel that the lyrics to the songs you listen to are ungodly then you must stop listening to them. I think the Holy Spirit is dealing with you on the matter and the fact is that every time you listen to or watch something ungodly, you subject the Holy Spirit to the same thing. That is why you will never have peace over your secular choices. Do some research. There are some wonderful Gospel and Christian groups/singers who have music that sounds a lot like today's secular music but every word glorifies the name of God and what He is all about. In other words, you'll have to find a way to substitute one form of music for another. Once you've done that TURN OFF THE RADIO AND STOP LOOKING AT MTV. It's hard at first but God will make you able in time to do it with ease.

If you can find a Christian Bookstore in your town. They have a great selection of Christian music with the sound of today. You can still listen to the style of music you like with Christian words.

the reality which you're even worried approximately it - is an indicator which you're transforming into and maturing in what you suspect in. I went contained in direction of an analogous element....I consume, drink, sleep, write, and stay song 24 7...and became into not approximately to offer it up...till i found out that i did not could...it became into purely a remember of switching to much less offensive song and getting to understand which sort of song made me react in a fashion that wasn't Christian-like. do not anticipate individuals to be waiting to offer you an answer that purely you recognize...fairly people who do not share your pastime in being a Christian. wish this enables.

I had the same issue, but over time I came to enjoy Christian music more than secular music. Not that all secular music is bad. :)

My favorites right now are:

Toby Mac
KJ-52
Kutless
Pillar

Those are all Christian rock & rap.
