Ouch. Take 3 advil that is the prescription dose, with food. Then put ice on your back. You may have to take a towel and wet it and place it on a flat pan ot whatever and put it in the freezer. When it is frozen put another thin towel between your back and the cold one. Let it stay about 20 min. or until it is thawed out. You can use it over again. Then after a while use a heat pad. If you don't have one use a small towel and microwave it folded into a gallon size baggie about 2 min. If it is too hot lat it cool a minute than put it on a thin towel or pillowcase on your back sitting against a chair to hold it. This ahould relax the muscles. Then go to bed and if you can't lie flat try propping yourself up on a few pillows and try to rest that way. You can take a bath in a cup of white vinegar and really warm water or Epsom salts to relieve the tension. But, the ice on 20 min. and off for a few hrs. the on again is the best way to relieve the inflammation and I know it's the hardest to do but it works, really!!! The heat is just soothing to you and will help you sleep. Needles to say don't do any lifting or strain yourself again...take it easy if possible. If not improving in a week or two, see a Dr. I wish you luck. Miss Mary

You've strained your trapezius muscles in the shoulder blade area and upper back. Try moist heat or Bio Freeze rub. Take Advil, Aleeve or Tylenol for pain. If it doesn't get better, see your doctor. He or she may recommend physical therapy to get you back in shape. Good luck!

There re so many things that may have gone wrong, go see your Doctor, time will tell.
