She is 10 years old. Good Health, no fleas. I think it may be an allergy. Any knowledge would be appreciated.

First thought is allergies, does it ever get better? Does it come and go? If so, then maybe a seasonal allergy.....mold or pollen.....if its all the time maybe its a food allergy......you would need to change foods to a novel protein (a protein and a carbohydrate that your dog has not eaten before)....that means your vet will need to tell you the one he would prefer you to feed. Lamb and Rice is no longer considered a hypoallergenic food source. And that is all that you can feed, no table food, no treats, nothing but the special food for 2-3 mo...it may take that long to see a change. You can try antihistimines, benedryl is dosed 1mg per lb twice a day. Its really serious when the dog is rubbing the face, its really possible to damage the surface of the eyes, which is why I would prefer you take the dog to the vet to take care of this.

You can't treat her until you know what the problem is, and you're not going to know without taking her to a vet. Even if it is an allergy, how are you going to find out what's she allergic to? What are you going to do to stop the itching in the mean time? What if it isn't an allergy? Go to a vet.

If she's rubbing her eyes all the time, they are bothering her. There is no way to know what to do for her without a vet visit. He will know whether it is allergies or an infection or something else and how to treat it. Don't you feel sorry for her and want her to feel better?

Get her to a vet - they are paid to have knowledge about dogs and their issues - you pay for that knowledge - don't be so mean and cheap, if you were sick you would go to a doctor.

Get your poor dog to a vet to find out what is troubling her before her eyes are damaged for good.
