There are several HUGE holes in your thinking, a few of which have been mentioned by the others.
Since you are so all bent on banning auto racing in general, and NASCAR in particular, can you do me a favor? How about the next time you are driving on the interstate, make sure that you do not use your seatbelt (in invention discovered in racing), while you change lanes without looking in your rear view mirror (another racing invention), right into the path of a large, fast moving truck, hopefully driven by a young NASCAR fan.
With that said, I would like to point out, that it is the "fans" that are responsible for their own actions. I, myself, was involved with racing from the age of 3. I learned how dangerous that cars, and more particularly driving, was at a very young age. In fact, I was so overly cautious during my Driver's Ed classes, my driving instructor had to tell me (and once only, mind you) to get on the gas. After I just about put the gas pedal through the floor, he never again told me to speed up. I had gained the exact reputation that you described, although it proved to be false. Until 2004, I had NEVER had a speeding ticket, and have NEVER had an accident.

This is obviously a foolish, attention seeking person. There is danger every second of our lives. Trucks run through houses, trees fall down, lighting strikes, new illness' kill someone every minute of every day. Many many hobbies & sports cause people to die. I myself am a drag race driver. I drive in one of the fastest most dangerous class' in drag racing. Free will, knowing the risks, ect ect, means I can do anything I want as long as I don't hurt others. What a great ?? for the first time I check this site out. Thanks for wasting everyone's time. Yes I know, everyone has an opinion. Which I'm all for, but this was just assinine.

Learning about car control on a track and with proper guidance/training is what both my children will be doing before getting there license.
Drivers licenses requirements in California and most other states is pathetic. All that is required is the ability to GUIDE a car, pass a test and bang out on the freeways.
Race track, car clubs and even private companies provide excellent affordable training for teen drivers as well as senior drivers.
I suggest you try something like NASA Pro Racings HPDE program where individuals can drive your own street car for a weekend to learn about what a car does under braking and acceleration extremes. CONTROL THE CAR…. You would learn things like, sometimes the safest reaction to a situation might be acceleration. Its actually pretty fun for some people, and who knows we could some day get some Americans in Formula 1 and that training starts early for most the champions.

Your reasons are kinda lame, but I could see a time when auto racing could get banned due to reasons like a waste of resources and ecological damage. I just don't see it happening anytime soon. If more people actually participated in organized racing instead of racing around city streets, traffic fatalities would go down. If auto racing did become illegal, all the racers would still do it, but now they'd be on public roads. I do agree with those Fast and Furious movies being a really bad influence. That crap needs to be banned!

No! Iv raced karts and been in a single seater i dont drive like a nutter on the road if anything its tought me how to drive safer and have better car control . Also i am a massive fan of all motor sports and to me F1 is the best sport in the world so you saying that has upset me and propbly ALOT of other people.
People do crash cars everyday it happens i realy dont think its down to motorsports. people get killed due to not payin attention when driving or people who dont drive within there capabilities. I think that most motor racing fans know they are not racing drivers and dont drive like nutters. so no no no no no, motor sport should NEVER be banned and it is NOT the cause of millions of deaths.

If you ban racing then the kids will only have the street to race on. Way to go brainiac!
While your at it, ban bathrooms because that's where the most accidents happen. Ban coming home every evening because most auto accidents happen within 4 miles from home.
If you want young people to slow down then start by banning the 'Fast and Furious' movies.
If you banned banning, would banning really be banned?

auto was not only made for a sport but also to keep street racers frm racing illegally secondly everysport has a risk everything thing in life has a risk and wen they do race precautions are taken before and after races it cant be banned coz then more ppl would be killed becoz us street racers wanting to become are gonna practice in the streets and get our rep on the streets not in a national broadcast or corperate sponser

nope and its idiots like you who wanna shut down racing cause its dangerous or it waste gas or it pollutes the air, get a life bud if you dont like racing thats fine but leave it alone for the millions of people who enjoy watchin or participating in racing, there are too many whiney people in this country who will not stand up for their actions and you sound like one of the whiney people, racing is a risk and the people who get in the cars know this and are willing to face the risk, if some teenage kid kills hisself street racing then guess whos fault it is? nhras fault, nascars fault, i dont think so lets start at home wheres mommy and daddy do they do a good job raising the kid, did he make a bad judgement call, i bet when he was racing before the wreck he knew he could die but he done it anyhow, pointing your finger at something you know very little about is a very bad thing, go educate yourself about racing at the local track, then try the big sanctioning bodies and see whats going on then think about what you asked in here

If you ban auto racing, you better ban every other sport too. Athletes die in every sport and encourage young people to do things that they probably shouldn't do.
Probably the most un-educated question I've ever seen.

WHAT?! Where do you get your thoughts, cracker jacks? O.K lets not have a police department either-inherent risk, how about no more fire fighters-inherent risk, why don't we just get rid of cars all together and ride horses,oh wait, there is an inherent risk with that too. There is some kind of risk in just about everything we do. Think about it!
