Sometimes a kiss is nice if you like the person. If you are thinking long term, it's best not to rush things any further

Something that tells me who they are and what to expect in the future. Nothing bland or run of the mill, and not something that doesn't allow for plenty of conversation time. I want to see what they are all about, and if we really do "click". I always love things like authentic Greek restaurants with belly dancers & plate smashing, going to the beach and learning something new together like surfing or sailing, or even skydiving if thats what he's into! Tell me what youre all about! If its cheap, you pay, if its expensive, we split it, but maybe buy each other a little something like an ice cream or souvenier along the way.

Kissing (not making out) is good if we totally hit it off (reluctance on either side means no future date), don't expect any more than that.

I'm female (30).

Expectations on a first date for me, I'm a guy -- small talk, I'll try to be charming but not too much, just funny. We talk about things, interests. We both know we're nervous, so that helps. We talk about why we met and what we think about it, for example, a fix-up, or the internet, or a dating service, etc. We lauh about that. Keep it short, keep it light. Nobody with any sense of decency expects a whole lot on a first date. It should be short but should give both people something to mull over in the following days, so they say hey, I'd really like to see him/her again. If things don't go well, one of you will give/get the "We should do this again" which, roughly translated means, "You will NEVER see me naked." But, and this happens, in the event you two are just totally taken with each other and you get kinda drunk, you can expect about 3 weeks of sex before it goes south. Good luck!

I don't know if I ever expected anything particular. I always had high hopes, and that varies person to person. I would always hope that the girl would be a fun person and that it would just be a fun casual date, but you really can't expect anything before the dating starts!

I'm male. I expect (or hope) for the gal and I to have good chemistry during the date without having to "force" it. That's all I want out of it.

<--Female.

I have no expectations on a first date. The first date is just to see if there is any sort of chemistry to make a second date which is where the expecations roll in.

Anything can go, I don't usually expect anything from anyone because everyone is different.

i can honestly say that i'm expecting kisses. i mean, if a guy likes you enough to date you, he must WANT to kiss you and the same with girls - if they like guys enough to date them, they must want to kiss them. if not, then what the heck are they dating for anyway?
