what is the difference between a Forensic Pathologists & regular pathologists??? do they both work with dead bodies???

The basic difference is that forensic pathologists work with evidence (including the body) to determine the cause of death in any death suspected to be not natural (ie homicide or suicide), while regular pathologists usually work for hospitals and do autopsies there. Regular pathologists also look at tissue specimens from surgeries and biopsies to try and figure out what disease the patient has or if the surgery was successful. For example, if you were having surgery to remove a tumor, the pathologist can look at the edges of what is taken out under a microscope to determine if they got the entire tumor.

A pathologist is a physician, M.D. who has gone through 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school and 3 years of residency in pathology. A pathologist does work with dead bodies when performing autopsies. However, pathologists also run the hospital's blood bank and provide other services such as plasmapheresis for leukemias and blood cell disorders. Forensic Pathologist generally finish 4 years of college and sometimes an additional year or two of training in forensics.

Forensic pathologists will surely do autopsies, but many other kinds of pathologists go their whole career without doing autopsies. As an example, pathologists who study blood would not likely do an autopsy, but may possibly draw from a corpse,.

Pathologist work with "fresh" dead bodies. Forensic pathologist may have to work with anything from recently dead to skeleton fragements.

yes both work with dead bodies. both conduct autopsies. a forensic pathologist deals with matters wherein the law might have been broken (e.g. murders, accidents etc)
