.......box, as entertainment for the troops?

I heard where the army's special animal training section (SATS) is training a number of kangaroos to take part in boxing matches in Iraq as entertainment for bored troops.

Now that they don't have Bob Hope to put on shows the intention is for each base to have their own kangaroo to represent them & fight against other bases' boxing kangaroos. The kangaroos wont wear shorts, like boxers do, but will be distinguishable by different colored boxing gloves.

It's a wonder the animal rights groups allow this to take place - or don't they know about it, does anyone know?

lol, that even amuses me and I'm not actually watching it. I used to doubt that humanity could be stupid enough to do certain insane things (like boxing kangaroos in competition) but once you live a little you will all know just how stupid us human dogs can be!

That is incorrect-they are training then to hop through minefields based on bounding abilities they are less likely to hit a mine ad will save lives. The next training scheduled is after the small arms are developed to use them as assault troops in case of a return to trench warfare.

I should not be surprised if that were true.
