I questioned (politely) a southern Baptist preacher on something. He became rude and inflammatory. Unreal. It was just a question but the things he accused me of were ungodly.

I believe ignorance is bliss... be like a sheep and love what you don't understand. Like that devout Christian couple on the Amazing Race... in Dubai they said "wow look at all those churches- they're beautiful!". They were in fact pointing at mosques.

Preachers are human. Some are inspiring, some are wrong, and some are downright evil. Keep to the bible and don't lose faith based on one person's ignorance.

Any time you think you're being taught the wrong thing in church, there's a Christian denomination out there that will agree with you. The internet's an amazing resource.

Eg. My church teaches me hell is eternal torment. I coudln't believe such a sadistic teaching and once left the church because of it. Now through the internet and scholarship i've found Christian denominations that agree with my beliefs, and I believe in God again. I want to be right for the right reasons, not right for the wrong reasons.

Have you Personally Questioned your Preacher on the Bible when you felt his teachings were unbiblical?
Answer: Yes.

Answer:Galatians 1:7-9 (King James Version)
7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

2 Corinthians 11:3-5 (King James Version)
3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

5For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles

Yes, I believe we are called to a higher form of worship. A pure form of worship. We need to dig to get the truth! I have changed churches if there was someone preaching unscriptural teachings. It is hard to find a church around these parts. I live in a very small town. There is a limit to the number of churches in town. I have been to most of them. Many are places where "dead" religion is taught. Or where they teach "replacement theology". I stay clear of these places! I have found one church that I attend. I just have not become a member because we just moved here and I am still checking out what is being taught. I do not go anywhere where they refuse to answer my questions!

Fortunately, I've never had a serious doctrinal disagreement with any preacher I've sat under.

The closest I've ever come to that concerns a factual error that a preacher made. He said that the Genesis flood killed "all life on earth" besides Noah, his family and the animals in the ark. I pointed out that the Bible actually says that everything on the dry land was killed. It's kind of hard to kill fish with water. lol

Yes, I have.
I was a Southern Baptist, and while going through many courses and studying the Scriptures, on the doctrine of Eternal Security, or (once Saved Always saved) I came to disagree with the Pastor at our Church, I attempted to Challenge him on the topic, but he refused to look at my research on it.
I came to realize that my research was right on the position held by the Assemblies of God (Pentecostal) who hold the same Position, My Church also has been Pastored By two ex-Southern Baptist who possessed Doctoraits in Biblical Theology, My Current pastor Was Dean of Students at Criswell Collge In Dallas, Until he received the Gift of Speaking in Tounges, and because of that, he was ousted by Criswell, he now teaches New Testament Greek at Christ for the Nations College in Dallas.

The pastors are committed to an evangelical barrier. They do not tend to change. I am not out to change them, I am not called to do it as far as I know and do not feel the call to do it. I do not go to church because I know their theology. I worship at home like the early Christians did.

So no, I don't. Many of the people here think what I show them is unbiblical, because they tend to have adopted the same theology. You see it all the time with "God loves EVERYBODY!" and other undiscerning, unbiblical things.

Yes! When I was a child searching for the truth, I waited until I had some one on one time with the Minsters or Reverends.
I was very specific with each of my questions because I could not find the answers to justify the holidays we celebrated nor could I justify having national and state flags at the entrances of the Churches.
Every where I went, every one I asked, had the same question to me.
"Are you talking to Jehovah's Witnesses?"
I said no. Who are they? And how do I find them? If they have the answers I seek, help me find them.
Well, my poor mom was told on many occasions to leave me at home or shut me up.
She quit going to church and after a few more years and many more churches, I quit going to.
31 years ago, Jehovah's Witnesses were calling on my grandmother, I was there, and finally, answers from the bible.
I could not believe my eyes and ears. My heart pounded with joyful delight and I started to study the bible with them and have been one for almost 29 years.
Anyone searching for the Truth from the bible owes it to themselves to study with one of my brothers and sisters to see what Jehovah has been saying for 6,000 years.

yes I did. it got really frustrating, because he would pull out another verse and take it completly out of context and explain it off. gotta watch out for those ones. christianity is supposed to be religion to bring an individual some peace. many take it all the wrong way and start making up crazy rules and pushing thier judgement on others. they are supposed to be accepting and supportive of other people whether they believe and think similar or not.

I will ask questions of the pastor to clarify the teaching. Usually missed something.
