they both have save ratings but #2 had more people vote..which one do you think will be better?

#2 is the one that I would go for.
I don't think of cream cheese when I think of cookies.

I like the looks of #2 b/c of the icing. But that is more work. But I think #2 would taste better b/c of icing.
#1 would be easier, but probably not taste as good w/o royal icing on them.

I make the cream cheese cookies every Christmas and believe me, they are to die for. Go with them.

I vote # 2. # 1 is a little outre. # 2 is simpler, more classic.

they both look yummy but i love cream cheese so i'll say number one
try substituting cream cheese for mascarpone cheese... soooooooooo much tastier and creamier
