See a doctor, quit eating so much, take a shower, wear something nice and act like you care about yourself.

HI , i am sixteen .......... and I have had a best friend suffer from depression . and i also had a parent suffer from it to... they confided in me and i am the only one that knows .
Start small ..... first of all shower ... you have no idea how good a shower can make you feel .... or even better ...... give yourself a total day of self pampering .... have a looooooooong hot bath with a good book or put on the radio and give your self a body scrub , a mud musk ... any pampering treat you want .... make sure you moisturise too.... paint your nails .... and while your having your hot bath and your pampering day .... forget the world ..... it is not your problem ....just think all about you ... when you get out ..... have some hot food ( especially potatoes as they are known to help fight deppression ) but dont gorge yourself .. eat and when your full .... stop ............ also after hot food and a long bath it is sometimes easier to sleep . so go and have a nap ... and if you can't sleep read a good book ...... or go for a jog ,or walk , or run .. and if that doesnt work .. think of math homework [ that ALWAYS makes me feel tired and ready for a nap ) .....
Also maybe die your hair or get a different hair cut ( but dont turn you hairstyle into an emo/gothic one .... that just makes you feel worse and these days everyone is doing it so youll look like every other idiot out there ..... they say change is the spice of life . so maybe change your bedroom around... re arrange everything and redeco .. so you can express yourself ... again ... dont blot out the wondows and sleep on the floor in the corner .. you want lots of sunlight in your room as that help with the depressed feeling ..................
also talk the friends you still have . and if you don't have any .... then they wern't real friends so spread a nasty rumour about them ( JOKING)
also talking to people online like this can also be helpful. because they dont know you personally it's probally easier to talk and be more open . maybe find other paces where people can tell you about there shared experiences and how they help fight it . or go to feeling blue .. the website ..
I hope this helps :) and remeber .. You wont always feel like this ...... I remeber when I was 14 I went through a stage ... some days are still off but I think ofmy future and my goals and everything i want to achieve . like having my own house and owning my own jewellry business and being independant and driving ... and all the good things that will and do come ...

just hang on there . I know how u feel I've been depressed at ur age too. I would even say I was severel depressed, I had anorexia, tried to commit suicide but then when i realized that death isn't a way out and i was at the point when I had nothing to lose I decided to change myself. I also read a lot of self helping books, was meditating, trying to figure out what I wanted and who I was. But the breaking point for me was when I realized that depression was coming from my thoughts, so I was writing in my journal all of my thoughts during the day and then I was trying to rewrite them but in a positive way. So I started to control my thoughts, it took some time before I got used to think positevely and it made a huge change in my life. Plus of course u need to have a balanced diet because good food really does make a difference since depression is a chemical proceess in our brains . Try to find what u like what makes u happy, set some goals for urself. Surround urself by people who make u feel good, take care of someone who needs help. And always thank God for the things we usually take for granted.

Hey, I'm 14 also. I don't think I can help you much, but I'm kind of depressed also. I think you're depressed because you don't talk to your parents a lot. You need to sit down with your parents and tell them how you feel. Have a serious discussion. Do not go off-topic. Once they know how you're feeling, they can understand you. Browse around the internet and see if you can find some tips on handling depression effectively. I hope this helps.

The first line of business when you are up to your *** in alligators is to drain the swamp.
You have already stated the problems, and continueing to do what you are doing is only going to keep you on your path down hill.
If you aren't showering, get yourself in the shower.
If you aren't eating right - start
I know you dont feel like it, but feelings have an incredible talent for screwing people up, and the fact of the matter is that feelings are not facts. Dont give into them.
Put one foot in front of the other....action will help get you out of depression - not thinking about action.
Good Luck

Yeah, this is a great place to look for help. Half the morons on here want to kill themselves, and some of them would be justified in doing so and stopping the spread of the gene pool.
You seriously need therapy. Only way to get therapy at your age is to tell your parents you are suicidal.
Either that or you're just here to get attention and pity from other morons who have no clue.
Wake up, life is good.

First of all Stop being down on yourself...
You need to love yourself..just keep busy and maybe do some volunteer work the best way to help yourself is to help others. take a shower and tell yourself you are the best you that you can be.
I will I am sure get thumbs down So what I am being honest
start writing your thoughts in a journal and keep telling yourself how good you are

first and foremost, you have to understad, you can only help yourself. and in no way can you expect anyone (even your parents) to help you.
If you can see this statement in the proper way, it empowers you. you will understand that because no one can help you, you have the potential and ability to help yourself. and you seem very perceptive for your age to ask your question the way you did.
you wanted an outlook to help you answer your question rather than asking people for a straight out answer. this tells me you already understand what is wrong in your life and what you want to change about it. But for whatever reason, you feel you can't change those things.
not caring about your health is not good. whatever mental anguish you are going through, don't punish your body. because mental anguish can be dealt with, health can't.
its all about what you want, who you are, and where you wanna be

You need to contact your local crisis line. I would look up on line a phone number so you can start talking to someone right away. They can also refer you to a regular counselor who could start working with you. You need to tell your parents that you feel depressed and need help.
I have depression/anxiety and it started to get bad at 13. I remember crying in the kitchen and yelling at my dad "I NEED HELP!" No one listened and I ended up in the adolescent psych. ward of our local hospital at age 15. I hope that doesn't happen to you and can be prevented if your parents take this seriously.
Here is a website with a phone number you can call. Good luck and I hope you find someone who does listen so you can start feeling better!

i honestly think ur recovery will take time. i think you need to start making friends n talk to people. SOCIALIZE.... those friends of urs that dont listen... arent really friends. i think u need to seriously think about what ur doing to ur self. what ur doing isnt healthy n itll only lead to even worse of an outcome... suicide. i dont think u want to do that. even if u feel theres no way to go, thats never the answer. ive always thought that ppl who do that r selfish. they think they r the only ones suffering in this world that they turn to it. making the ppl who love u and care about u the most suffer ur loss. you say ur parents dont listen, but have u actually tried to talk to them?? they must luv u. whats behind ur depression anyway? u have to re-evaluate ur thoughts and stop being so sad... if u ever need sum1 to talk to, im here... ive been through it too...
