Go for the 73 inch. I have a sixty and wish I would have gone bigger. The DLP has very good color, but lacks in the fine detail of the picture. LCD is not as bold when it comes to the colors, but has a very sharp picture.

Mitsubishi is a good name, and has a pretty low price tag. For the money you cant really go wrong. They are not the best TV but for the money it is a nice picture.

Ya, theyre good. You may want to look at the Samsung LED DLPs since they dont have a color wheel. Also, the Sony SXRDs are pretty good but a little bit more expensive. LCDs dont really come in those sizes(for the average consumer) and plasmas prices are crazy at 60"+

The funny thing is that they are very good for projection televisions but they are made in Mexico. Go figure. Just understand that you will occasionally have to replace a $200 lamp assembly (about every 4,000 to 5,000 hours of use). In a basement you might think about a front projector. Sanyo has a great deal on a 1080P front projector.

I'm suggesting you avoid Mitsubishi. They are not one of the bigger or better names in HDTV.

Mitsubishi used to make the best televisions. But:

- when HD came out they had a 'promise' program to upgrade peoples TV to stay current with changing standards, but this program cost $$$ and they did not take care of their customers.

- For 2 years, the Mitsubishi TV's would not even accept a 720 signal despite it being part of the US standard

- Their first DLP televisions tried to sell for $9,999 and were not very good.

So I'm afraid Mitsubishi was arrogant and missed the opportunity to be the number 1 HDTV maker in the world.

I have not heard any reviews of their sets in the past several years.

EDIT

Dont get me wrong. I have a 50" Mitsubishi standard def TV which I have had for years and love. But when looking for HDTV's I wanted to go with Mitsubishi, but there was always something wrong with every model I looked at. Sony, Samsung, Pioneer, Hitachi and even Sharp had better models for much lower prices.
