Here's 1901 til 2006, but the records are sketchy before about 1951 just simply due to turmoil as Orla C mentions in another Answer.
http://www.cso.ie/statistics/Population1901-2006.htm
The Republic of Ireland only began in 1916 with a Civil War called the 1916 Rising, or Easter Rising.
From 1845-1849, there was a Great Famine in Ireland during which time approx 1 million people died and another 1 million approximately emigrated.
Since the Republic of Ireland was essentially under the rule of the United Kingdom during the years you are asking about, I would presume that any data regarding population and census details would be integrated into information from that country.
You can see more detail of population figures for those years for Ireland from:
http://www.tacitus.nu/historical-atlas/population/british.htm
As population census details are rarely given year by year, you're looking at approximately decade-length intervals.
Year Population (million)
1801 5.2
1811 6.0
1821 6.8
1831 7.8
1841 8.2
1851 6.9
1861 5.8
1871 5.4
1881 5.2
1891 4.7
1901 4.5
Remember that these figures include the entire of Ireland - what is now the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland - and census figures after 1916 for anything called 'Ireland' would actually only include data for the Republic of Ireland.
Hope that helps ;-)

There would be no way of telling year on year, as a census is only taken every 5 or ten years. Back then there was no scanning of passports or computers to store details on the keep them up to date yearly.
The population as recorded by the Census Commission in 1851 was 6,552,385. The Commissioners stated that, had the Famine not occurred, the population would have been 9,018,799. The commissioners calculated that, as a percentage of the 1841 population, mortality from 1845 to 1850 was as follows:
1845 : 6.4%
1846 : 9.1%
1847 : 18.5%
1848 : 15.4%
1849 : 17.9%
1850 : 12.2%

It's going to be very hard, because during the years you have listed the country was in turmoil, and in the grip of a famine. Basically the population was 8 million in 1840, but 10 years later was half of this due to people either emigrating or dying of starvation. I don't think it's possible to know how many died and how many emigrated, as records of poor dying Irish were not kept on ships, and people just upped and abandoned their farms in a desperate bid to survive.
