For some reason, I have been having dreams with my deceased dog and deceased friend in them. It's not like they just passed away, I'm pretty much over the grieving and all that. I'm just confused why I would be having frequent dreams about either one of them.

In most of my dreams, all I can remember is that my dog is near me and I am petting her on my lap. She has always loved to sit on my lap and be pet. But in my dreams she seems more perfect. Last night my friend wasn't in my dream, but her family was. I just saw them out in town and was talking to her sister.

It would help if you could post more information on the story line of the dreams, there is not enough information here to offer much of an interpretation. Even though you have moved through the grieving process, there may be some form of personal symbolism in what each of these beings means to you, things that others would not be able to interpret for you, as they may hold specific symbolism only for you. You should look over the story line of the dreams, to see if you can determine what they have in common, also look for puns in the dreams, and look at the over all tone of the dream. Dreams are in symbols that are a kind of shorthand that is designed to convey an entire concept in a short amount of time. It may not be so much who is in the dream, as what they represent to you, and what they are doing to try to convey a concept or idea to you......
On your additional details.... Sometimes we just "review" things, even though you have finished grieving and reached acceptance of their passing, they were still a part of your life. People tell me all the time of dreaming that loved ones visit them in their dreams and are more "perfect" than they were in real life, one person told me my sister got her teeth fixed in heaven. These dreams don't really sound particularly morbid to me, I think in the one about your dog you are simply enjoying your memory of him in an idealized setting, your friend's family is still around, maybe you were just thinking about them in a wondering how they're doing kind of way. There isn't really anything unusual in these dreams, I think it is more about you reviewing memories of them for your enjoyment, as long as you can remember them, they are still "alive" in a sense..........

I dream about death when I am stressed (in general- not about death)
